Location: Weaverville, California, United States

Since my 'forced' retirement on June 23rd, 2005, I'm trying to build an 'at home' business via the Internet and learning more about using my digital camera, eh!! The picture is of ME & Kathy, my wife who's one bad ass Quilter!! We will be adding some of her handiwork too. I'd love to hear from computer & graphics people so I can learn more and we'd both love to hear from Quilters too!!

Arizona by Photo, Kathy's Grizzly Bears T-Shirt & Candy Firemist Red Harley, eh!!

Hi Everyone,

Kathy's cousin Jerry just updated his web site and I thought I'd let you know, eh!! A while back I sent you an email letting you know about his web site and fantastic photos and received a few replies about how good Jerry's site was. And since you all know how much I love Eagles, I 'stole' some of his pics to add to my Blog too. I threw in the Duck in Flight and the Earth shot just because they caught my eye. I could have added a ton more, but just go check all the other photos yourself, eh!! ;-)) Here's the link to Jerry's site: http://www.arizonabyphoto.com/

Then I forgot to add Kathy's 'Bears' T-Shirt to my last Blog Update and sure enough my little sister wanted to know what the picture was on Kathy's T when I took the pictures of her and her 'Dream Catcher' earrings, right!! ;-)) So being a good brother I got out my camera, laid out the T, took 3-4 shots with/without the flash, edited the best one and added it. Just for you 'Jo'!!

Then today I had to return some movies we'd rented, pick up a prescription, make a stop at Papa Dog's ;-)) to pick up our gum order, take a truck load of trash in to our local dump and pick up our mail. When I came out from the video store, here was a RED (my favorite color) Harley parked about 3 spaces away. So you know that I just had to grab my camera and get some shots, eh!! Just as I finished I turned around an this biker guy in leather vest and tattoos was just behind me!! I threw up my hands and said, 'I confess!! I was shooting your bike!!' and then showed him my camera!! He just smiled and we got to talking about bikes of course. Gene, stated that he had broken his back about 11?? years ago and his bike was about the only fun he had any more!! ;-)) He lives in Douglas City which is about 8 miles East of Weaverville and had some ice cream and needed to boogie before it melted!! My UFO, Moon, Cats, Bikes & Bikers, Custom Car, Dreeam Catcher Ear Rings

Hi Everyone, to see ALL of these shots, CLICK HERE!!

I've got more of my 'Moon' and 'MyUFO' shots, including some colorful editing too. While shopping I saw the very pretty 'NEW' Cadillac in the parking lot. Also, while shopping we saw a lot of bikers on the road, most riding double, but I only got a few shots of some that were parked. It was fun watching young/old, men/women watching the bikers as they fired up their bikes and headed out of the parking lot. And then there were quite a few looking at me about 500' away taking pictures of these bikers with my zoomed in view, eh!! ;-))

Then I got a few shots of Kathy wearing her NEW Hand-Made 'Dream Catcher' Ear Rings!! She got a couple comments on how good they looked too. Since our Flag was flying so good on Saturday because of the nice breezes we were getting, I took a couple of video's and included only the shortest one to help you with a faster download, eh!! I added another video of Lucy too, because she was acting really weird, running thru out the house, jumping up in the air to grab an imaginary 'something' and then playing with one of her favorite toys, one of Kathy's elastic hair bands. But of course when I got my camera out she stopped and just laid down. So I was picking the hair band and teasing her with it and finally got a couple minutes showing off her antics, eh!!

There is one shot of Ricky & Lucy, where Lucy had been glaring at Ricky outside on our deck railing and Kathy said he kept glaring back at her, but again by the time I got my camera out ready to shot, they were totally ignoring each other. Something funny to us ... this was Lucy's home first and when we added Ricky to the family, he just took over and would chase and fight Lucy continually. Then one night about 1 am I went out by the back garage hearing him crying, shined a light up into the tall pines and found him about 30' up. He wouldn't come down so I left him and he finally came home the following afternoon. Ever since then Lucy seems to have gotten the upper hand on Ricky so were thinking she may be the one that 'treed' him, eh!! ;-)) Then today when Kathy opened the door one time to let Ricky in, he saw Lucy setting behind her and slowing looked around and then turned around and walked away!! ;-)) Aren't animals fun!!

My UFO, Cresent Moon, Flowers, Deer & Kathy's Hospital Room

Hi Everyone,
I'll keep this one short ok!! ;-)) As normal I try to label all the pictures so you can pick and choose. But with the 'Moon' and 'My UFO' shots, I did a lot of various setting changes from 'RAW', to 'CHROME', to 'Wide Angle', to various 'Zoom' percentages all the way up to 100%!! So some of these pictures will take a bit longer to download or view, ok!! I even added a short video of them also and you can see the light or glow of my UFO changing. But this video is a long download, so if you want to check it out get it started and then go back to reading your mail, eh!!

Both Great Grand Kids Alycia & Rylan, Whiskytown Lake, Indian Dream Catcher & Earrings, HD Truck & Bike, Clouds & Sailboats, Rafters, Reptile, Cliffs

Hi Everyone,
We went to Redding yesterday to see our 6 day 2nd Great Grandchild, Rylan Darren Parker, eh!! First off as normal when driving to Redding, we stopped off at the Whiskeytown Ranger Station to use the restrooms and take some pictures. Then we drove down to Anderson first, which is a few miles past Redding, to pick up Kathy's Wind Catcher & Earrings that she bought from her 'ex-sister-in-law' Evelyn Malroy and a gift for new born Rylan. Then drove back to Sherri & Tom's (daughter) place to visit with them and the other daughter Lourie, her daughter Kalee and our first Great Grandchild, Alycia who is about 8 weeks old now!! After eating some lunch, taking some shots and talking, we all left to drive to the North of Redding a few miles to Lake Shasta City and visit with JaNell and the new baby Rylan. So I got a lot of shots of the family AND Rylan & Alycia together, eh!! Both baby's got passed around quite a bit here!! ;-))

One thing about all of the 'indoor' shots that I took, most were all were NOT with my flash, so I could take more 'informal' shots with everyone staring at me after the first shot, right. So when you view them please ignore the graininess or fuzziness, ok!! I wasn't going for 'portriat' quality. But when you look at the 2 'cropped' shots of Kalee laying on the floor with the red throw, I sure wished the I had been. Then I would have gotten a great picture of her smiling at her new baby Alycia!! ;-))

The shots of the fish tank with Shane's 'Reptile' I took because I like reptiles, especially Dragons ;-)) and I love odd looking rocks and any like of wood, period. So just look at what's in these shots, ok!! The shots of the great looking Red Dodge Ram is because this is my 'type' of truck AND the red color was such a deep red!! I lost a lot of this shading, because where the shade was covering the front of the truck, it was almost black in my pictures. So I tried to edit these shots with compromising a bit in the middle ranges to show off the total truck and coloring. The other Red Dodge truck shot was as we were leaving BK and I didn't feel like getting out of the car and got a lot of reflection on the GREAT looking wheels, eh!!

The shots of the Black Ford and the Harley Rider were taken within the car as we were just leaving Redding and I was watching both come up behind me and then pass me, so I grabbed my camera off the seat and tried taking some shots. ALL were bad and not focused very good, but the ones I included were the best ones after I edited them a lot!! But the truck was a 'Harley Davidson Limited Edition' and really a nice looking 'Hi-Boy' and the guy riding the HD had a really nice bike and he had a few tattoos too!! Now for the 'Clouds' & 'Sailboats' shots, those were taken within the car again as we were driving by Whiskeytown Lake on our was home.

Lastly, all the 'DCCliffs' shots were taken in Douglas City, on the Hwy #3 side heading to Hayfork. I had stopped to take some shots of the 'cliffs' and then heard all kinds of yelling and some noise like maybe firecrackers going off ever so often. When I looked up river towards Weaverville I saw some rafters coming down river so I waited and took some shots of them too!! Beside, the Trinity River always is worth shooting, eh!! Then when we got home I took some shots of Kathy's NEW Dream Catcher and scanned her NEW Feather Earrings. I think the Black/Purple earrings are Hot myself!! ;-)) Maybe that's the Irish/Cherokee blood in me!! Inside joke there, eh!! ;-))) You can check out ALL of the shots here!!

Cougar vs Cat, Buddy Hazzard & the DC Players, Storm Clouds, Squirrels, Beautiful Harley & 'Old Days' Thoughts

Hi Everyone,
This is a mixed bag again, but you gotta check out 'Cougar vs Cat'!! Also, Brian Madden in the 'DC Players' was a manager of Tops Mini-Mart for many years and I stopped there almost daily while I was driving the Senior Van. Then Brian quit and went to Redding, CA to work for a few years and ended up working for the same company as Tom Edwards, my son-in-law. Funny, eh!! Now Brian is back in Weaverville working at the main Tops Sentry Store and I found out that he was a bassist in the DC Players band. Now days Brian asks us how Tom is doing and when visiting the kids, Tom asks how Brian is doing. Strange happenings, eh!! ;-))

Then the normal shots of our growing plants and shots of my clouds, eh!! Now the 'Squirrel' shots are missing the Stella Jay that was dive bombing the Squirrel, but I surely tried to get both into the same shot!!! ;-)) For us bikers, check out the great looking Harley shots, but especially the close up of the spokes on his front wheel. Very Nice!! I'm still watching my 'UFO' and trying to find some kind of pattern of orbit like the moon, sun, or stars and they are way different one day and then about the same on others. Tonight after taking this shot at 8:45 pm, I went out about an hour later and it had dropped way down a bit lower than where I have the 'x' in the shot. Go Figure, eh!! Lastly, I've included the latest issue my senior friend, Barbara Talvola, because of her talking about the 'old days'. I sure wished she'd kept at least one of those steel balls, so maybe someone could have figured out what they were and why they were laying in the railroad tracks, eh!! ;-))

Cats, Flowers/Trees in Bloom, Sunsets

Hi Everyone,
I've got some nice flower shots as our plants are starting to bloom with all the rain we've been getting. Even if some are come/go showers, eh!! This afternoon I was down at the rental to take some pictures and got a couple drops of rain on my head going down. But as I started back home a cloudburst opened up and by the time I got back to our house I was soaked to the bone!! ;-)))

Ok, we'll start off with a couple shots of Emily, who is my tenants Nick and Amy's child that is just starting to walk and she's a real cutie, eh!! The following shots are after Nick mowed the yard area and my Chipper is that red thing in one of the shots, that Nick got to running after setting in the garage for a couple years. Now we'll both be using the chipper to chip up more limbs/shrubs as we clean up more of our respective areas. Then more shots of all our plants blooming out like crazy now. I think they all are having a race to see who does the best, eh!! ;-)) Of course more shots of our 2 cats, Lucy and Ricky. Even tho they still haven't made up totally, this afternoon I opened the door to check how our plants were doing in the rain and Ricky was laying down by the door, got up and looked over at Lucy hiding under her favorite wine barrel, then as he turned to come inside, Lucy almost stuck her nose in his butt, trying to get into house. I keep their food bowls separated with their enclosed litter box, so Rick went to his bowl and Lucy went to her bowl and basically ignored each other. Maybe all that rain made them to hungry to fight?? ;-))

The sunrise was so pretty this morning that I took a regular wide angle shot, about a 40% zoom shot and then about an 80% shot, then went back to bed, eh!! ;-)) Now I love ALL of our plants, but check out the coloring on #4218!! Isn't that such a pretty design and coloring!! And our cactus & carnations are just exploding with blooms. Hope YOU enjoy all of these pictures, eh!!

New Growth, Deer, White Blooms, What Is It, Baby Pine, Rainy Bike Ride, Family Circus, PDF's, Bikers, Senior Pie Chart, Trinity Journal, Fresh Snow

Hi Everyone,

Thursday the 3rd . . . Click Here to see all these shots!!
Here's more variety of shots today. As normal I'll try writing on each picture(s) that I think need a few words, but most of the shots are self-explanatory, right. Like the 'New Growth', 'Deer', 'White Blooms, 'What Is It', 'Baby Pine', etc. But check out my 'Bike Ride Rain' shots!! It was still a good ride. ;-)) The 'Family Circus' tho I want you to pay close attention to the detail and quality of this one. One of my friends, Ann Method, sent this as a scan from a newspaper and you know how badly the scan picks up the back side, right. But for my learning experience I spent over 2 hours editing it into what you will view. Pretty good outcome don't you think!! ;-))

The 'JSSR' PDF is a test send from Bill Method, as he's thinking about moving from good old fashion 'mailings' to his Hot Rod Club Members, to electronic sending of the newsletter as a PDF file via the Internet!! If you care to peek, you will see that it reads as good if not better than the print/mail version, eh!! The 'Senior Pie Chart' is just another funny that I used to test how good I could do a 're-make' from the hand drawn one that I received. The 'TTJ' items are scans from our local newspaper, The Trinity Journal. The 'Bikers' were parked in the 'Old Downtown' area on Main Street/Hwy #299 and probably were just enjoyed the day, eh!! ;-)) The 'G-Force' is a local gymnastics group and they are going 'National' again this year. The 'Snowpack' is not a good read for us because we haven't had a good water level in our well now for a couple of years. I really don't miss shoveling 1 to 3 feet of snow in most 'normal' snowfalls in past years, but we really need more snow with high water content. Then the 'Top Ten' are just some fun stuff, eh!!

Saturday the 5th ~ Cinco de Mayo!!
. . . Click Here to see all these shots!!
This was another Saturday Shopping Day and I shot a variety of pictures too. The snow on our Trinity Alps was all but gone, then we had another few days of rain and cold weather. As you can see in the first few pictures a little more snow was added, eh!! In my last 'update' you saw that I got caught in some light rain on my way home on my bike, that a bit later it was raining off/on really heavy, so I can't complain about getting a little wet, right!! ;-)) Then while shopping I saw some good looking bikes going down the highway and got some shots of 5 that were parked in the Tops/Longs parking lot.

The first shots are of a really clean Yamaha that a gal drove in and check out the beautiful custom Blue paint on the tank!! Then I took a long zoom shot of 3 other bikes about 75' away that drove into BK (Burger King) just as I was leaving the Yamaha. As I was parking the car, in drives this good looking Ford Truck so I got a couple shots of it. As I was walking over to where Kathy was looking at the flowers outside Tops, I saw the really bitchin' bike with 'MY' drag bars and drag pipes and pretty blue paint job.

The plants are what we bought today for us. The pictures of the van are of the NEW GAC Van, where I used to work. Then I was reading some of the 'News Of The Weird' and decided to scan that and let you all enjoy it too, eh!! ;-)) The 'Read My Lips' is a card that I picked out for one of Kathy's 'gifting' club members that is a 'Nanny' and I thought she get a kick out of it. Hopefully!! ;-)) The 'Wedding Announcement' is one of Kathy's great-niece and some of the family may view my blog, so I don't want to get in trouble with the family, eh!!

Hope you all enjoy some or all of my pictures. Later, 'Viper'
