Hi Everyone, Today I'm sharing over 150 photos that I took at our Annual Quilt Show of 2010. Please note that there are a few 'panorama' type photos that a really to wide for viewing within your monitor. To view the complete 'pano' you need to 'save' that photo, then view it 100% using what ever normal graphics program you use. Then scroll from left to right, eh!! '-)) Also, remember that you have the availability to change the way you view my slide show, by just going to the menu, view, then selecting another view that suits you better. So go and enjoy!!

Back again, eh!!

I know it's been longer than usual for a new update, but a lot of different have been happening including unusual Spring Snows, my Primary Camera died about the first of the month and I'm waiting for Olympus to tell me when the repairs are done. Then when I finally starting building my slide show album early this morning, I got to the point of uploading it to my web site, and the software froze up on me. When I tried redoing the 'Misc' section with all of my comments that I added, the folder was empty!! So I 'took 5' and tried later this afternoon and finally got it uploaded, BUT without all of the comments. Just look at the file names and that should give you an idea of what my comments may have said, eh!! Remember, there are FOUR different slide shows, so be sure to look under 'Album' and view one or all. '-)) For all of us Custom Car lovers, you gotta check out custom paint job as shown on the Truck above in the 'Misc' slide show!!

Hi Everyone,

I know it's been a long time since my last update, but 'things' just kept getting in the way. Like you don't have that same problem, eh!! But I finally started getting all my photos together a couple of days ago, finished up about 3:30 am this morning and have spent the past couple of hours this afternoon getting the Multiple Albums uploaded to my web site, so I'm already to post now and then maybe I'll do a faster job come March, eh!! ;-))

To any new people just tuning in, JAlbum is what I use to make my slide shows and it allows me to add more than just one album to it, so you can pick and choose what sounds of interest to you, just by clicking on 'Album' up on the top left hand corner.

'Paused' is one of my collection of photos that I take when we pause a tv program so we can go to the toilet, get something to eat or drink, and see what I think is a funny, different or interesting shot.

'GACBugle' is a newsletter from our local Senior Citizens Center and have a variety of useful information, jokes, what's happening, etc.

'Misc' is mostly my own photos of all kinds of shots, but can also include other photos that I found on the Internet or of friends. Since it's been almost 2 full months for this latest update, I labeled them 'Jan' and 'Feb' so you wouldn't have to look at the total all in one, eh!!

'Trinity Journal' is our local newspaper and when ever I see something that I think may appeal to others I scan same and include the article. I normally include 'Senior View' since I've know Barbara Tavola for over 33+ years and she usually writes an interesting article and same with 'GAC News' for the Golden Age Senior Center. So I hope your check out each individual slide show and enjoy my photos, eh!!

Hi Everyone,

I just updated my Blog with a variety of pictures, as I didn't want to take the time to separate them into 5 or 6 individual slide shows as I have done sometimes. You'll get to see the 1st snow of the season on The Trinity Alps, plus the 1st snow of the season at our level too at about 2,800'. I've also added a couple videos that I took off the tv and I think you'll enjoy too. Just give them plenty of time to download and start, unless you have hi-speed/cable type of a connection.

We're getting more and more beautiful Fall Colors around here in The Trinity Alps, so you'll see that and much more in this update, eh!! Just check out my slide show like now, eh!! '-))

Btw, I've said it before but for any new people just checking out my Blog, if you see any photo that you'd like to print out, let me know the file number/name and I'll email you the Original which will give you a much better print, as I reduce all of my photos down to 750 pixels wide and use a 50% JPG compression too. That way my slide shows load quicker and yet still show you a really clean and clear picture.

Also, if any of you are into Digital Photography, I'd like to have contact via email so we can exchange ideas, tips & tricks if you're willing. Just send me an email with the word 'FILTER' somewhere in the 'Subject' area, so it won't get lost in all the junk email that I receive daily, eh!!

Hi Everyone,

I have more Misc Photos again in this Update and then a copy of the GAC Bugle by itself. We had a fire at our local Lumber Mill that is our biggest employer of 140 people, so it really got everyone's attention like quickly!! I just happened to be riding my bike into town earlier than normal and as I was coming down our mountain the 3 miles to town, I rounded a couple corners and saw this big flume of smoke!! I stopped quickly, got out my camera and took some shots thinking it was the starting of a wildfire. But as I got onto Main Street and headed East toward our Pharmacy where I was going, I saw it was our local Mill on Fire!!

Today I went into town on my bike and just a few turns down the hill saw a large flume of smoke. So I stopped and got some shots with my camera, not knowing that it was our local Mill on fire, till I got into town and stopped at the Pharmacy where I was going to pick up some meds for me. The Mill is just across the alley, behind Dana Ryans Used Car, Boat, Antiques lot. So I got a few pictures, picked up my prescriptions, then got back on my bike and drove down the alley to get some better shots of the Mill. Hope you enjoy all of the pictures, as I tried to edit some into showing individual things instead of the wide angle shots that I was taking. I also used the 'multiple shot' feature in my camera to take 3 to 7 shots in succession and then I'd use maybe just 1 shot out of the group. That way I did get about 5 shots that I normally would NOT have, eh!!

Hi Everyone,

You might see a few photos from past posts, but I tried to clean up some misc photos, plus all of my August photos, so that I could start off September clean and fresh. I'm trying something new in the sense of keeping my photos better organized, eh!! ;-)) So in this slide show, I tried to separate some pictures into their own as 'Bikes' which has a few car photos too but I forgot to rename the folder '-)), a really weird custom bike, 'Bad To The Bone', various news items from our local newspaper 'The Trinity Journal' and our local Senior Center 'GACBugle' too. That way you can again pick and choose OR view them all. Trying to give you more choices.

Of course, the Misc folder has the most and a wide variety of stuff, so I'd suggest that everyone at minimum at least check out this slide show. Remember, YOU have many choices in my slide shows to 'View' each in other forms besides my 'default' of Carousel and 'Framed' for a bigger photo view and full screen too. Also, under 'Album' is listed each individual Album and you can watch them in order or pick which one you watch 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc. Your choice. Also, YOU can use 'Theme' to change from my default of a black background to something that you like better.

I just hope that you enjoy!! '-))

Car Show On The Green!!

Hi Everyone,

Kathy and I went to the Car Show on Saturday and I got 193 shots!! But by making a lot of panoramas and cutting out some shots, my slide show only has 103 pictures. And I hope you enjoy them all. Why, because the show has always been held at our local Park with lots of shade & places for Kathy to set and relax while I'm wandering all around getting my shots. They even have a hard service road that circles around the park area, so when we've used the wheel chair it's easier on both of us.

This year the car show was held at the Golf Course, which had NO seating of any kind, had a LOT LESS shade and had NOTHING but grass, if we'd been using her wheel chair. So I'm not sure what will happen next year, or even if it will be held at the Golf Course. Kathy got so tired from walking just 20-30 minutes, that I had to walk her back to the Restaurant so she could get cooled down, sip some tea and she got a salad to kill as much time as possible. That gave me enough time to almost run thru all the cars to get my shots and looking at them while editing them I see that I missed quite a few that I personally wanted some good single shots of.

But, at least next year we can take her wheel chair, if only so she will have a nice comfortable place to set, eh!! I sent an email to the Weaver City Car Club asking them about these changes and how we didn't like it, but they haven't responded at yet.

Hi Everyone,

I have another 'multiple' slide show for you again, as I've gotten a couple people reply that they like having all of my slide shows within just one folder, as compared to when I have 2 or 3 separate slide shows listed, eh!!

So you'll see that this time I have photos of Bikes, Custom Rods, Misc, Variety, GAC Bugle, so you can pick and choose OR hopefully look at them all, eh!! My so called 'normal' group of shots is within 'Variety' as you would normally see, but then I pulled out the bikes, a couple custom hot rods, so you can look at them by themselves. Same with the misc folder that has some odd/ends. Go explore and enjoy, eh!! '-))

Hi Everyone,

I'm using a 'new' style of slide show which has 6 individual slide shows within the Primary Slide Show. So be sure to check out the menu in the heading, because you will be able to view/change slide shows by using 'Album', change the 'View' if you don't like the default of my 'Carousel' and change the background coloring under 'Theme'. Remember that you can view larger pictures by using the 'icon' on the upper right side of the slide show OR hitting the F11 key OR if you change the 'View' to 'Framed Slide Show'. Hope you can find the time to go check out all of my pictures and hope you enjoy them too, eh!! '-))

Storm Clouds, Rain, Hail, Flowers, Butterflies, Moths. Custom Rod

Hi Everyone,

I just updated my Blog with a variety of pictures and most had captions to tell you why I took a certain shot. Then I moved some of the pictures around, viewed the slide show and everything was ok. But when I tried viewing the slide show on the web it was just a blank screen!! So I deleted that slide show, remade it using the same date as the file name and everything is working AOK!! BUT, I didn't want to take the time to add all those comments again. So if any of you have any questions about any of the shots, just send me an email and state the file name(s), eh!! '-))

For those of you with a hi-speed connection here's a short video of some heavy raining AND hailing too!! Got a shot of Kathy, her brother and 2 out of 3 sisters, that came up for a quick lunch and a couple shots of my brother and his wife Annette that stopped by to check up on us, while they were up here in town for a funeral. Also, I got in a couple rides to town on my bike, even tho I got rained on a bit, eh!! Hope you enjoy all the pictures!!

Hi Everyone,

Since I've been busy taking pictures and not getting them uploaded to my Blog, there is about 126 shots and a wide variety of subjects. I was going to separate the pictures into 3 different slide shows and that would take even more of my time, so they are all in this one slide show, eh!! Just take your time and view it when you have time, because I don't want you to miss anything, you hear.

For all you Quilters, all of the quilt pictures are all together. So when the slide show starts, just click on the pause button, then scroll along the thumbnail pictures at the bottom till you see the first quilt. Then you can turn the slide show back on or keep viewing them one at a time. Your choice, eh!!

Hi Everyone,

Spring is starting to show all around us here now, so I've been taking shots of all the new buds, blooms and growth in general. I'm not able to get out my bike more often too, so that's really nice because I love riding to town on my bike instead of needing to use the car or truck because of the snowy/rainy weather, eh!! ;-)) Just check out the slide show and I hope you enjoy all the shots!!

I have a couple photos of a tiny happening we had one day with some really high winds that blew off a double folded tarp that was covering a make shift wood rack for some of my fire wood, that was being held down with a couple 2x4's and a piece of metal roofing. I also added a couple more of my 'paused' pictures and a more shots from a different angle thru the trees of our old barn that is slowly falling apart. I also added copies of our local Senior Center's Newsletter, The Bugle, as it has some good advice everyone should read, eh!!

Hi Everyone,

I'm a little slow in getting around to this latest UPDATE, but with all this early Spring weather we've been getting, I've been outside more hauling in wood, not shoveling snow, and getting to ride my bike more!! ;-)) Then I've been taking more 'test' shots still trying to learn more about my camera. But this weekend I've been real busy editing what I want to use and they are uploading to my Blog as I type. Click here to see the slide show, eh!!

Ok, when you get to the beautiful Blue/White Custom Painted Harley, then listen to what the owner told me. When his folks died they were cremated and he had the Urn's with their ashes. He had an idea, but didn't know if it could be done, until he talked to the guy that painted the bitchin' paint job on his HD. I gave him my card and he said he'd email me the full story after he got back home in Los Angeles, CA. But here's the short version from me. He wanted to have the ashes incorperated into the paint, so he could take his mom/dad with him on all of his rides, eh!! So if you look really close in any of the paint, blue, white, skulls and all, you may be able to see something that doesn't exactly look like metal flake or firemist, like I used to paint and that just may be some of his folk's ashes, eh!! I'm taking him at his word. '-))

We were having a very unusual Winter this year, especially as compared to last year, but then we started getting back to back storms and a lot of these storms have been leaving snow at our elevation. Hi Everyone,

There are a few 'zoom' shots where I was using my tripod/camera to shot way across the valley just practicing on different settings, plus getting some up close shots of the Trinity Alps and our melting snow caps. We need way more snow pack as this winter is really not much so far. But I'm not complaining about not having to shovel snow every day as I was doing last year, eh!! So far we've had a bit over 24" of snowfall, as compared to last year's 78+ inches!! The local weather man is just now saying that the greater area is way warmer at this time than normal and no sign of rains or snow anytime soon. Just use this link to see all the pictures.

Hi Everyone,

I finally got caught up with my editing of all the pictures I have collected since my last update and is now ready for viewing, eh!! I have a wide variety again this time, and I don't plan it this way, it just happens as I take my own pictures and found stuff on the web. I just put everything into a monthly folder, do my editing each day as I have the time, then I pick out a percentage of them to share with you & the World, on all of my Blog Updates. So please check out my latest slide show and I hope you find something that you really like viewing, eh!!

Since some of the pictures have a lot of text to read that's too small in the regular picture for viewing, just use the 'F11' key to go to Full Screen or click the 'Download' button on the right side to open it into another window. If you still can't read the text easily, then use the 'Ctrl' and '+' keys to enlarge each picture up to full width and then just scroll. I try to make everything viewable and readable as possible and still keep the download times to a minimum. I then test everything on my end and only upload to my web site and Blog when everything is working AOK, eh!! Go and Enjoy!! '-))

Also, since I wrote on a lot of the pictures as normal and since I also added a few words to some of the picture indexing too, if you place your cursor within the picture area and just leave it there, you'll see all of this as you view each picture either automatically or individually, eh!!

Hi Everyone,

My Blog Update this time is mostly pictures of our latest snow storms, which you'll even love or hate, depending on how your weather has been in December, eh!! We had a lot of below freezing temps at night and some just above freezing temps in mid day too!! But the snowing has stopped for awhile and the rain that was predicted hasn't happened. So as of Wednesday, December 31st, I have both the main and lower driveway cleared so I can use the truck to get to town by myself or take the car so Kathy can go too!! She's getting a bit cabin fevered since she has been snowbound as of December 6th, eh!! ;-)) Hope you enjoy all my pictures!!

I have a few more misc pictures for you this time. I'm still hauling up pallets, tree poles, scrap lumber, etc, and cutting it up for firewood and as you can see in the first few pictures. Since I didn't leave enough space available inside the new wood shed, I used some of the pallets to make up a box to hold the excess, eh!! Be sure to check out the 'Before' and 'After' Fall Colors shot where I spent over and hour editing out all the power lines, eh!! But they just totally destroyed the picture that I was trying to show you. Then besides the normal shots of Fall Colors and Clouds, since we were shopping on the 31st, some of the clerks at the stores were in Halloween Costumes so I had to shot them, right!! '-)) Hope you enjoy them all, eh!!

I just Updated my Blog with about 65 pictures of various things, but mostly shots of our Fall Colors that are starting to pop because of the cold weather we've been getting. As of Wednesday night, I also have our yard almost cleared of all the trash that didn't go back inside the new wood shed and even mowed all the weeds that were growing tall, eh!! I'll still be changing and rearranging stuff inside for awhile, but it's even more organized now too. I still have some tree poles and pallets to cut up for firewood, so some or most will go inside and the rest will just be stacked outside and tarped.

One of the pictures is of a biker crusing thru the parking lot while I was taking shots of a really nice Ford Crew Cab pickup and all I did when I heard him coming by was swing my camera around and follow him as I clicked the shutter and it came out really clean/clear!! Then a lot of the trees at the Tops/Longs parking lot are turning colors and I was afraid to wait another week. So if they have even more color next Thursday on shopping day I'll take more shots, eh!! '-)) Go check out the slide show when you have the time, eh!!

Hi Everyone, ... Quilt Show 2008 ...

Since it was raining, our Annual Quilt Show in the Street was held inside the CD Hall this year. Kathy's two girls Lourie and Sherrie came up from Redding and went with us, so they got to visit a bit while checking out everything, as I was taking a lot of pictures. Kathy said she saw a lot of new Quilts this year, but we were told by Sue from Textile Traditions, that only about 50% of all the Quilts got shown because of the lack of room in the CD Hall. We did notice a lot of folded Quilts laying on folding tables all around the interior. We had a very good showing of people too, and I am very thankful for having a 'zoom' or 'telephoto' lens, as most of my shots were from a distance waiting for an opening to get my shots, eh!!

My camera was set to 'Auto' with the Flash up and ready to shoot and I noticed that all the coloring came out really great and natural, even if the flash did go off on every shot that I noticed. It kind of surprised some of the people, because I was standing so far away from then when I took most of my shots. To make it easier on me, I used my 'new' PhotoResizer to reduce all of the 'originals' down to 750 pixels wide and saved them with a 33% JPG compression, so they would load quickly and then made the slide show with JAlbum and the FotoPlayer scheme that I like. I also added a few comments too, but so far only Barbara Maness has mentioned that she evens reads or looks at the comments, so I may stop taking that extra time to do so in the future. Last Winter Snow Damage & NEW Wood Shed Slideshow

For those that don't already know, we had a really bad last winter with a total snowfall of 78+ inches, when we have only been getting about 2' to 3' each winter for about the past 12-15 years, eh!! This was only the 2nd time since moving up here to Weaverville, CA, in 1976, that we've had a snowfall of this amount AND that was so wet and heavy!!

Anyway, we have a rental (Dad's) on the same property and both places had woodsheds that my dad built in 1976, using trees that we cut on our property to use for the upright poles, the 3 main cross poles and the rafter poles. We dug holes about 2' deep, added one big rock to set the poles on and then backfilled the holes with smaller rocks/gravel, then dirt and tamped it down. We added scrap 1"x12" boards to lay/nail the metal roofing on. These 2 wood sheds lasted 32 years and would have lasted a bit longer, if I'd been able to physically get to them to have kept the snow shoveled off. But it was all I could do daily, just to keep our deck/steps cleared. I tried to keep our steep driveway cleared, but it kept snowing faster than I could shovel, eh!!

Then one day I noticed that our wood shed was leaning towards our yard about 6" at the top, then more and more as the days went by, so I made a trip down to our garages with snow still up to above my crouch, got my cable winch and a couple tow chains, then wrapped one end of a tow chain around the top rafter/upright poles, attached the 2nd tow chain and then stretched out the cable end and wrapped it around the bottom of our power pole at the opposite end about 27' away. By keeping the wench tightened every couple of days, I was able to keep the wood shed from collapsing outward.

After the snows melted and the ground dried out I started taking the off the bottom half of the roofing and just as I got to the last two panels to the backside, I heard some 'creaking' and ran away to the yard, just as the rest of the wood shed collapsed away from the house. So about July 21st, I started the demo process, putting all of the stuff from inside the old wood shed, out into the yard area and started building the NEW Wood Shed, eh!! I finished September 27 about dusk!! My total hours recorded was 50 hours of labor working 1 to 2 hours at a time, as that's all my body would handle. I put in more hours that I forgot to record, but I can't go back or try to remember them. The NEW Wood Shed has about 250% MORE Volume as you'll see in the pictures, as compared to the old wood shed. And on the later inside shots you'll see that I'm making use of all this extra space already, eh!! '-))

As to the slide show, it has 191 pictures, some with 'captions' telling about my progress. So if you want to see all the pictures and are using a 56k modem hookup, get the slide show to downloading and then go do something more important instead of waiting, ok!! For all those on 'Hi-Speed' or Cable shouldn't have more than 3-4 minutes to wait. If you want to read the pictures with captions, I'd suggest NOT using the slide show feature, but look at each individual picture by clicking the forward arrow and then enlarging the pictures with captions till you can read the words good. 21st Annual Car Show In The Park

Hi Everyone,

We went to the local Car Show on Saturday and Lourie / Jay and Sherri / Tom came up from Redding to meet us at the show. While they and Kathy were looking, setting & talking for a couple of hours, I was out with my tripod/camera taking shots, eh!! '-)) Probably more than 50% were missing, because Hwy #299 West out of Big Bar was closed coming on into Weaverville because of the wildfires still a burning up here. And we get a lot of rods coming in from the coast around Arcata, Eureka, etc!! But as you see we did have a very good showing of rods anyway.

Since 'Viper' is still dead and I've been using Kathy's computer, I had a hell of a time doing my normal editing of pictures like this and making them into a slide show. So I downloaded a copy of JAlbum and FireFTP to her computer and just dealt with having to setup everything from scratch again. But in doing so I found a newer/better slide show program, so I'm trying it out on you all, ok!! Please let me know if you like it, hate it or have any good or bad words and suggestions, because I 'hide' a lot of the functions to make it LOOK and ACT as simply as possible for you all, eh!! '-)) Email Me, eh!!

BTW, this slide show program is set up with a 'merchant account', if you'd have any use for that to sell items on the Internet and use pictures to show the product. Even has a music feature too!! Hear that Ran?? '-))

One thing I'll STRONGLY suggest is to click on the following link to start the slide show and then pause/stop it and run your mouse over the various buttons and you'll see a pop-up of just what they all do, ok!! Then go ahead and watch it either automatically using the slide show OR by clicking on the forward/back buttons ... your choice!! Another thing too, IF you'd like to see larger pictures in the 'main' window, use the 'FULL SCREEN' feature towards the bottom left side, just above the 'thumbnails' OR just hit the 'F11' key on your keyboard for an almost full screen view. In my camera, most all of the pictures looked 'perfect' to just a touch dark on some. Then when I edited them for size and color they all looked great to my eye on my monitor too. Some of you have been very busy in sending me a lot of goodies, so it's taken me a lot longer to get my own pictures ready for uploading, eh!! But I finally got everything uploaded and you can go check out everything when you have the time.

First ... my own Album_20080610 has a lot of the normal clouds, flowers & scenery shots, but also some of the beginning shots of my taking down the collapsed porch on our rental house. Our 78+ inches of winter snows did a lot of damage around here this year. We didn't have it as bad as some of our higher neighbors, but we had it worse than town too. This is the 3rd really bad winter we've had since moving here in 1976. You can see all 7 pics of just the demo work in 'Rental_Demo_Stage_0-7. It's a big 'pano' file, but I web optimized it a lot, so it might be a bit fuzzy to the eye, eh!! Hope you enjoy everything.

I got way behind in my Blog Updates, so there are quite a few items today. My 'ALBUM' has a lot of variety, the 'Home Alone' is about a Dobbie that likes to play in the swimming pool, by sliding down the slide over and over, eh!! 'Iguazu Falls' is a must see of rivers, waterfalls and really GREAT scenery shots. The 'New Sony Camera' is a short quickie. 'Simon Sez' is about a dog that does the Simon Sez game better than kids, eh!! 'Paradox' is one of those thinkers about how our times have changed in our lifetime. NOTE To Anyone that may be offended by seeing a nursing woman or viewing a women's breast & nipple, then please do NOT watch 'Starbuck Employee', even tho I think it's really FUNNY, eh!! Hi Everyone, ~ Index Site: Winter 2008 Index ~

Well, where shall I start?? Ok, I'll start at the end first. My Blog or Web site, 'Winter_2008' came about after thinking that since we were hit so hard this year and I wanted to share my story and pictures with others, maybe there were other people around Weaverville that had their own story/pictures that they might like sharing too. So I wrote our local newspaper, The Trinity Journal, about my idea and Amy said that sounded like a good idea to her and put a little 'blurb' in a couple of issues in April asking for some input from others. So far I've only had 2 people to respond, but will go ahead and add their words/pictures with mine, so anyone can view and hopefully enjoy them too.

Now let's get back to the beginning. I've lived up here in the mountains of Weaverville, since September of 1976 and I can only remember 2 other times that we've had a winter this bad. Kathy my wife has lived here since 1982 and she can only remember 1 other time that we've had a winter this bad. Town is about 2,000' elevation, we are about 2,800' elevation and about eye level with Oregon Summit at 2,813' elevation. We can view the lower part of The Trinity Alps which are about 5,000' to over 7,000' elevation, so when winter snows start we can usually see 3-4 snowfalls up in the higher elevation, which each next snow storm getting lower and lower till it gets down to our level. But this winter the first time it snowed we got it too!!

So that was our first warning that this winter was going to be different. Then over the coming weeks, it would snow a few inches like from an inch or so, to 12" to 18" or more. I would shovel the snow off our deck and start clearing the snow away from the walk way, from all around our car and then starting at the rear of the car, work my way down our steep driveway to the road, Oregon Street, trying to keep our driveway open. Normally this would only take me a few hours and it would stay open till the next heavy snowfall. In the meantime, I'd chain up our car, so I could get to town for shopping or prescriptions, post office, bank, etc.

This winter, I'd start the shoveling and only get about 1/4 of our driveway cleared on any one day and then wake up the next morning to find everything covered with more snow!! So I'd then shovel the SAME area again and maybe make it to about 1/3 of our driveway cleared and then more snow that night and have to start all over again!! All of this was before the heavy snowfalls started coming in!! ;-)) By now we'd been unable to get either my car or truck out of the driveway, even chained up, so I had to call my good buddy, Johnny Brinson, to come up with his 4x4 truck and take me to town for much needed supplies, eh!!

The County was keeping Oregon Street open so Johnny had no problem driving the 3 miles up here from 'Main Street', so I waded thru 42'' of snow from our house to the roadway to be picked up. Then when we got back home and unloaded all of my stuff, I didn't want to make more than just 1 trip back up to the house, so I had everything in stong plastic bags thinking ahead of time, and just loaded a couple bag handles on each arm and then grabbed the other bags by their handles with both hands and basically dragged them on top of the snow, little by little, till I got them inside, eh!! BTW, I could hardly use my arms the next day, because of all the strain on them. But if I hadn't of had that 42" of snow to drag the bags on, I probably wouldn't have been able to actually 'carry' all those bags in only one trip either!! ;-))

Then as the weeks went on with more & more snow falling, I finally called our County Road Crew and asked if there was anyway at all that the next time they came up to clear more snow off the roadway, that they could also remove the berm at our driveway too (NOT normally done!!), because my wife is 'handicapped' and should I need to get her to the doctor's office or hospital at any given time OR in worse case having the ambulance come up to get her, I really needed my driveway open. I did have about 3/4 of our driveway open at this time. The next morning when they were back up here clearing more snow off the roadway and I was out in the back of our house, clearing snow off our woodshed that the heavy snows had pushed sideways about 15" at the roof, I heard this most terrible scraping noise a couple of times. By the time that I waded thru the deep snow back the 60 plus feet to our car to see what was going on, there was no one there. BUT ... the rest of my driveway had been almost totally cleared with one of their large tractors with a huge loader on the front. I still had a lot of shoveling to do to level at this section, but let me tell you I didn't mind that one bit!! ;-))

Then the snowing slacked off to only getting a dusting up to about 3" every few days and then we starting getting some sunshine and NO snowing. It seemed like it took forever for the snow to beginning melting, but it finally did and the only reason that I could say this, is because I'd take my measuring stick out to the same couple of areas and measure it each day. But just by looking at all the snow still stacked up in my front yard that was higher than my deck, you couldn't see any difference till it dropped below the deck level!! By this time we still had over 36'' of snow all around our property, but I was able to make it down to our rental home just below us so I could go inside to check it out. We already knew the 40' porch had collapsed because we could see it from the roadway, so that was no big surprise. But when I did go inside and see that the ceiling was still up, that there were no leaks or damage any where, I just said my Thanks to God, eh!!

The wood shed at the back of the house is made out of tree/poles and the weight of the heavy/wet snow had pushed the wood shed roof poles thru one of the window panes and broke it. But there was no water damage on the inside. We also had a lot of nights down in the low 20's at this time, and we have 1 if not 2 water leaks now from frozen water pipes that burst. We also had a few broken limbs and trees damaged or broken too, but all considered we came out really good, compared to our neighbors higher up Oregon Street and all around Trinity County.

Since I'm a computer GEEK '-)) and photographer too, I took hundreds of pictures to record our winter snows and you'll now be able to see a lot of these pictures, besides a few pictures of 2 other Weaverville people that sent me their shots, eh!! One is the Lester family and the other is the Machewski family, both who live in the Weaverville area. I uploaded all of our individual pictures, plus made them into Slide Shows too. I suggest viewing the Slide Shows FIRST, because anytime that you want to view just one picture all you need to do is 'click' on the large picture in the middle or one of the 'thumbnail' pictures on the right. If you want to see the full size 'original', then 'click' on the word 'download' to the bottom left of the slide show picture. You can do everything from within the Slide Show, eh!!

Spring Flowers, Snowing Again, Custom Cars & Bikes

Hi Everyone, ... see my NEW stuff here ...

I just UPDATED my Blog with lots of variety and I'm also starting something 'NEW' too, so don't feel bad about sending my your Positive OR Negative Comments, eh!! All feedback is Welcomed!! This past month I've gotten a lot of email that I would just normally forward on to all of my ebuddies, because it's very easy to do so. But I know that most of you are using a 56k modem as your connection the emails that I've been getting with graphics are growing by both size and amount, eh!! So I've been trying to make them into JAlbum Slide Shows, adding them to my Blog Updates and then each person can decide to 'open' and view them or not!! Since JAlbum uses JavaScript, it loads & opens a lot quicker that if you were opening the same thing as an email, eh!!

Also, I've decided to save me a lot of time too, I'm ONLY going to be uploading my pictures via JAlbum and NOT uploading all of my 'singles' too. If anyone wants to view the 'singles', all you need to do is click on 'download' at the bottom/left of each slide show picture, to bring it up in a new browser window and then depending on your monitor size and how you have your browser set to deal with graphics, you may be able to click on that picture to enlarge it even more for viewing and/or printing. So it's kind of redundant to upload my pictures twice, eh!! Plus it's quicker to view full size pictures within the slide show, than by individual file names!!

Also, by using JAlbum, I can write something about some of the shots or groups of shots too. So be sure to read this latest 'ALBUM_20080420' to see what I'm talking about, eh!!

And I've started a 'videos' folder and I'll start using that for all of the various 'avi', 'wmv' & 'pps' type videos/slide shows, to keep them all together in one folder, eh!! Again, I'll try to name everything to give you a basic idea of what each video is about, plus I'll try to tell you in my 'Blog UPDATE' email more if I think it's a must watch or if I think it's a really good one, eh!! '-))

I've got a lot of variety in this update so be sure to look around, eh!! Various people have sent me pictures in an email and to save you receiving them as a forward as my ebuddy, I made them into slide shows that you can view right from my Blog, eh!! So check out my own 'ALBUM_20080413', 'ALBUM_20080413_Misc', plus 'Friends_20080412', 'Fruit_Veggie_Graphics_20080409', Pet-Lovers_20080409' and 'Sharing_20080409', eh!!

I also try to add some notes to the various pictures within each album, so you will know a bit about the people, places or things that I've taken shots of too. This is besides me trying to label each shot so that you'll kind of know what it's about too. Thus not leaving you in total darkness, eh!!

Also, IF I haven't told you all before ... I try to include ALL of my pictures into each 'slide show' and if you want to see the larger original or download any one of them, all you need to do is CLICK on the 'download' link on the bottom left to open each picture in a new browser window for viewing or saving. That way you don't really need to look at each individual picture as a separate graphic file, eh!! Hi Everyone, ... see all my pics here ...

I have more variety for you today, including a couple shots of our FRESH SNOW!! ;-)) I'm smiling as I said that, because it was very light and as soon as the sun came up it disappeared like quick, eh!! One of the first pictures is from my ebuddy Barbara Maness in Texas, of some really pretty clouds.

I also have some good shots of a Full Moon too. It was so low and clear, that I put on my shoes, grabbed my tripod and went out into our middle driveway in 40º weather and was out there about 20 minutes getting all of my shots, including 2 videos too.

When I went out this morning to set out my Flag, one of our local Squirrels instead of 'cussing' at me as he usually does, just jumped from tree to tree, trying to get as close as possible and just watched my every move!! After I got a couple shots and was moving around to get more clear shots of him, he'd stop and watch me a bit so I'd fire off a couple more shots. Kind of like what he was wanting me to do. Animals are funny, but I love watching what they do and how they act, eh!! Hope you enjoy all the shots!! '-))

I really have a mixed bag of goodies for you all tonight!! ;-)) My HOG friends Barbara & Stacy in Texas had a bike ride to a Old Car Museum last weekend and Barb sent me some pictures knowing that I love Old and Classic Cars. Not to mention getting a look at all the bikes and riders that went on this ride.

Then our Great-Grand-Daughter Alycia had her very FIRST Birthday and of course I took a couple pictures of her, eh!! ;-)) I added a couple American Idol Stars that we've been watching and I'll probably be adding a few more in the coming weeks, so you'll probably see this Album updated in the future. Then I've added another Album with some 'misc' stuff, including some 'what if Obama wins' pictures of the future?? ;-0 Hope you enjoy, eh!!

HOG Bikes, Hooters Calendar, Melting Snow, FIRE - Not!!

HOT NEW CAR = THE 789!! Snow Damage To My Rental Home, TEST Shots

Hi Everyone, .... see all pics here ....

In this UPDATE you'll see a lot shots of my Dad house that is now our rental and you'll see how the wet/heavy snowfall collapsed the 40' Front Porch Roof!! Also, there are interiors shots of water seepage/damage too, but I was really worried about much worse damage than what we got. But, I've also been praying that God keep his hands over it too, because this continuous snow storm was one of the worse we've had since moving up here to the mountains of Weaverville in 1976!! But at the same time all the deep snow all around our property was very beautiful and I got a lot of very interesting shots, eh!!

Since I'm an old 'hot rodder' from the 50's and love all types of cars/bikes, I just went nuts when my ebuddy Evelyn Malroy since me pictures of the '789' Custom Made Auto!! So I know all of my hot rod friends will love seeing the imagination of building a car that features the best of 3 old Chevies, the 1957, 1958 & 1959, eh!! What a vision. I'd love to own one of these babies!! ;-)) Go and enjoy all my pictures I'm hoping, including my 'TEST' shots playing around with my camera and editing, ok!!

I've just updated my Blog with a lot of pictures and a video too, of hundreds of birds swarming all over our trees for about 2.5 hours on Thursday the 21st of February. I have never seen anything like this in my life, eh!! Plus I have a couple nice Sunset shots too and a video of some pretty wind blown clouds!! Plus we've had a bit more snow and some really high winds on Friday and Saturday. While in my office watching the snow, I would watch it for a minute or two and the snow would swirl left and then right and then blow horizonially, but hardly just fall straight down. 360 Degree Pano of all our Snow, Mini-Choppers, Lucy our Cat, Moon Shots

First off, the '360_Pano.AVI is a BIG file and a very long download unless you have a hi-speed connection!! But I took a full 360º video while standing on our deck facing almost North and swinging to my left showing all the snow that we still have all around us, in our multiple driveways, on the rental house, the garages area, our yard, wood shed, our deck and up to our snow laden roof and back around to where I started. I should have used my tri-pod, but it was a spur of the moment type of thing and I think it came out fairly good for doing a 'hand held' moving in a circle thing, eh!! ;-)) Also, I was able to get the truck full of trash to the dump after clearing away the snow from behind it, but I couldn't get back into where I normally park it, because of all the snow still on the ground. The rest is a variety of things, so just go and check them out!!

Lucy, Ricky, Snow Stacked Up, Snow Damage, Just Snow Still Standing All Around, Moon Craters

Hi Everyone, .... see all the pictures here ....

This time I have a lot of shots of Ricky & Lucy just laying around the sofa and my chair. With me setting in it or not, Lucy just makes herself comfortable, even if she has to push my legs apart, eh!! ;-)) Then I have a lot of shots of all the snow around town stacked up everywhere you look. This is an unusual thing for Weaverville. Normally, it snows a few inches, the county blades it to keep the roadway open, then it melts quickly. NOT this time!! Then I have more shots of our property where we still have 12-15 inches of in most of the flat shaded areas!! Then I got some really good close up shots of the Moon too and you can even see the Craters, eh!!

Then we've had a bit of damage from our total snowfall in these last back to back storms of 78 inches!! The 40' long porch roof of our rental has semi-collapsed for all the wet & heavy snow, also the camper shell of my truck and our old barn 'shed' on one end and the building itself is sagging in the middle and leaning a bit too. There is a shot of 2 tall trees leaning off center about 30º also. Then I have a lot of miscellaneous that I've added too. Enjoy, eh!!

Cleared Driveway, Snow in Weaverville, Snow at Home, Snow still Everywhere

Hi Everyone, ... see all pics here ...

Guess What?? I got the driveway cleared off yesterday, Thursday, and we went into town about 1 pm today, Friday!!! Hallelujah!!! ;-)))) We had 2 weeks of mail to pickup, plus a couple prescriptions, then did 2 weeks worth of shopping to stock up on supplies again, to be ready for the next snow storm, eh!! ;-)) I've added a couple short videos trying to show you all the heavy gusting of winds on Thursday while I was trying to shovel off snow from our driveway. It was so cold and heavy and blowing right into my face, so I'd turn around quickly with my back to the winds and then continue shoveling till the next big gust hit me again. Also, by the time I'd get my camera ready to take a shot/video, it was already blowing by me, but you will still get the idea, eh!! I took most of the shots at the Longs/Tops parking lot so you can see just how much snow is left in town and then a few shots back at home, too. And you will see just how much snow we still have all around our home, eh!! The BEST shot(s) are of our CLEARED driveway!! ;-))

Since our car was still chained up from 2 weeks ago, since we needed that to get back up our steep driveway when coming back home from town. So I left them on till we got down to the culvert and flat land, even tho we didn't really need them with the cleared driveway and the road way was totally dry!!! Which was a little funny, what with all the snow banked up on both sides of the road, eh!! Then when we got back home I tried driving back up our driveway and got almost to the level area and it's so muddy the car lost traction. So I backed down out into the roadway, and gunned it a bit more and drove right on up to the stairs, eh!! ;-)) I love front wheel drive!!! Then after I unloaded the car, I drove it back out into the roadway and turned it around, then backed it into the driveway just a few feet off the roadway. So I'm all ready to get back to town next time.

Guess What ... MORE SNOW!!

I have more snow pictures for today, eh!! ;-)) We had more snow yesterday and thru the night, but today was a beautiful sunny day. We lost power yesterday about about dark and it didn't come back on till 3 minutes past midnight. Since we had no power for lights, tv or our computers, Kathy and I light a couple candles and twiddled our thumbs till about 9:30 pm, hoping the power would come back on. Since it did NOT, we both went to bed which very out of routine for us, as I usually am up till around 3 am and Kathy till about 6 am. So going to bed that early I got up a bit after 3 am and just decided to stay up, eh!!

Since the power had come back on I was able to work with my pictures, check my email and work on my web pages. Kathy got up about 5 pm to find out we had no satellite reception, checked her email and then went back to bed to stay warm, eh!! ;-)) About 7:30 am when it was light enough, I trekked out to the antenna and cleaned off all the snow AGAIN!! BUT ... it took about 90 minutes to go out to the antenna, clear off the snow and get back into the house!! The actual clearing off the snow only took me about 15 minute!! As I could only PUSH thru the deep snow 2 to 3 steps at a time and then I'd have to rest a couple minutes to catch my breath and continue on. But by the time I got back inside the house the receiver had 'powered' back up and we had tv again. So I fixed my breakfast and coffee and sat down to recoup, eh!! ;-)))

If Kathy & I have figured it right, we've now had about 83 inches of snow so far this winter and we still have 46.5" out in the open/flat areas!! And I'm getting really tired of cleaning off our deck so many times, just so I can get outside to take pictures, not to mentioned that all the times I've shoveled off the walk, car and driveway, only to get up the next morning to see another 4" to 11'' to 19", eh!! Well I just hope you enjoy all my snow of 2008 pictures, ok!! ;-)) We're already calling it the 'Winter of 2008' which will long be remembered!!

Finally A Clear Day & NO Snowing, eh!!!

I don't have to many pictures to share with you today, but to me they are very GOOD pictures because we did NOT have any snow!!! It was sunny and beautiful while I was out shoveling more of this nasty deep snow that is all around us. Even tho our high temp only got up to 35º, eh!! We still have so much snow that when I open the front door & grab my shovel, I have to leave the door open till I can clear off the first few feet. But now I have the problem of WHERE to throw those first few shovel loads, because I was just shoveling it straight ahead and off the edge of our deck. I can't do that now because the old snow is now higher than our deck height, eh!! ;-)) So go and enjoy my pics from today, the 1st day of February, ok!! ;-))

And we're getting some strange Icicles as the snow breaks off the roof snow, but hangs onto the flashing on the edge of our roof. Snow, Driveway Clearing, Sun Setting on Snowy Mts

We FINALLY got the driveway cleared of snow and went to town today, Wednesday the 16th!! ;-)) Kathy hadn't been out of the house since Christmas day. Every time I'd get part of the driveway cleared, it would snow again overnight, I'd clear it, it would snow, right. But we finally did get out and about, picking up our mail, prescriptions, 4 dinners at GAC ;-)), shopping at Longs & Tops, ate lunch at Burger King, and then stopped by our local Quilt Shop, Textile Traditions, and picked up Kathy's 'Block of the Month' for December and January!!

We left home about 1 pm and didn't get back till after dark at about 5:20 pm!! Wore ourselves out, eh!! But it was so good to get out of the house and NOT be shoveling snow!!! We both were so tired that it was a real chore to unload the car and put everything away, but we had an easy dinner fix since we had picked up the dinners from GAC, eh!! I still had to make 5 trips to get everything from the car to the house, and by the time we set down to eat and relax, it was so hard to get back up again!! ;-)) Hope you enjoy all the pictures, eh!!

I just updated my blog with some snow pictures that my friends/ebuddies Bill & Ann Method sent me a couple of days ago from their place in Oregon. They usually don't get much, if any snow where they live, and I've been teasing them that they could keep some instead of sending it all down to me, eh!! So they finally did kept some up there, otherwise I may have gotten another 6 inches, eh!! ;-)) So I added them to my snow pictures, plus a few shots of a new Jaguar for us car nuts, the GAC Bugle for January for those interested. Also added a couple items/pictures from our local newspaper, The Trinity Journal too. Hope you all enjoy what ever you are interested in, eh!! ;-))

Since we haven't been able to dig out our car since the 1st, my good old friend Johnnie Brinson came up on Wednesday about noon in his 4x4 SUV and took me to town to do the PO, Banking, Pharmacy, Longs & Tops and we got back to my place about 2:30 pm. It still took me another 25 minutes to carry everything from the roadway up to and inside the house, even with only making 2 trips. I'd walk 2-3 steps, rest a bit, repeat, etc, till I got everything inside. Here 2 days later, my legs, back and arms are still hurting, trying to carrying all that stuff up our steep driveway in about 28 inches of snow. But I made it without falling even one time!! Hallelujah!! ;-))

Then Wednesday night we had another 4 inches of snow fall, even tho the weather predictions were for a warm heavy rain storm, but it we had NO rain or snow both on Thursday and Friday!! The rains would help clear off our snow, because our temps have been hanging around 31 to 33 degrees and the old snow it NOT melting very quickly!!

Snow, Snow, Snow and more Snow, Eagle

Hi Everyone, ... see all pictures here ...

We've been have a bit of snow this past week, as you'll see in my pictures. One day I'm out trying to clear off our driveway and no sooner than I clear off the deck and stairs, another inch of snow is covering the deck. Three times I've gotten about 65% of the driveway clear, hoping for the the predicted rains to come in that night and help wash more of our snow away. Get up the next morning to another 3" to 11" of fresh snow!! Then I got up this morning, Tuesday the 8th and more snow again.

We also had NO satellite reception either and when Kathy checked out her overnight recordings, saw that we lost reception about 5:44 am this morning. So hoping that the snow would slide of all by itself, not wanting to get lost in all our snow, I finally went out about 3 pm to clear off the 11" of fresh snow from our deck and steps. I then got my 6' walking stick and headed out to the garage where our satellite antenna is, to clear off the snow. Since the last time that I cleared off the antenna, I measured off 15+ inches on the flat areas and this time the snow was not only over my 16" boot tops, but almost up to my waist!! When I got back to the house I measured my walking stick where I had marked it and our snow depth is now over 36 inches!!

Plus, when I climbed up the ladder to the antenna, the snow on the garage roof was so deep, that the snow on my garbage bag/Tee-Pee had no place to slide off to!! So I cleared away about 3' all around the antenna, then cleared off the snow that was left on the antenna and by the time I got back into the house, Kathy was yelling 'We have tv again!!' ;-)) Good old Trinity County snow storms, eh!! BTW, this last snow storm was supposedly to be a lot of rain and I think we got about 30 minutes between snowing and I got up to another 11'' of snow on the deck, eh!! Even with all my bitching about the snow ... we had a perfect beautiful sunny day yesterday, Monday the 7th, with pretty Blue Sky & White Clouds, all day long, eh!! ;-))

The 'Album Christmas 2007' is a lot of pictures from Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, when a lot of Kathy's family gathering and presents exchanging, especially for our GREAT Grand Kids Alycia & Rylan, eh!! The 'Album20071230' is some pictures of Whiskeytown Lake, Clouds, Snow, etc, that I normally take when we leave home and are out and about. I just finished uploading new pictures and most of them are of our latest snow falls at home and views from town of the Trinity Alps. Even only got about 1.5 inches out of 2 snowfalls, but the temps have been staying down in the low 20's and I can't even shovel it off our deck!! Today we saw a high of 31º, so maybe it will climb up a bit more on Sunday so I can drive the car back up to the house again. As I need to keep Kathy from trying to walked down to where the car is in the middle of our steep driveway, before Monday the 24th, so we can drive down to Redding for our Annual Christmas 'sleepover' with all the kids, eh!! Think some very warm thoughts for us, ok!! ;-))

Hi Everyone, .... see all my pictures here ....

It's been very cold up here in our mountains, but this morning it was only 19º when I got up about 7:30 am!! I had to be in town before 9 am and up here at our elevation of about 2,800' it was sunny and beautiful. But town which is only 2,000' had a heavy blanket of fog and when I drove down the 3 miles to Main Street, like everything was WHITE with Frost!! So of course I had to grab a few shots before heading home, right!! ;-)) Those are my 'FrostyMorning' pictures.

Also, I wanted to share all the pretty pictures on our NEW 2008 Calendars that Kathy got for only $1 each. I personally use 2 calendars in my office so I can view the present & next months at the same time. So I have the 'FlowersInBloom' & 'Hummingbirds' in my office, and the 'PaintedDays' in the 2nd bathroom which is right by my office. Kathy will have the 'GreekIsles' & 'Lighthouses' to put in one of the other rooms. But all the pictures I like so I'm going to 'cut' out all of the 60 pictures from these 'covers' and add them to my computer's 'background changer', so they will keep popping up automatically and I'll get to view them daily there too!!

The 'RedHeadWoodpecker' was up a tree about 20' and making such a racket pecking against the heavy bark looking for bugs or worms, while I was trying to get some scenery shots of the clouds about a mile from home. So I kept waiting for him to come around to my side and then I grabbed a few shots. A couple were almost totally black because I have my flash set on 'automatic' and it didn't go off. So I tried my best to brighten the shot without totally destroying it at the same time. Hope you enjoy him and all the other shots, eh!! And of course I just had to share my Great Grand Daughter Alycia's picture too!! ;-)))

Fresh Snow, Weaverville, Trinity Alps, Redding, Dirt Bike & Road Racer too

Well, today was Kathy's Annual Christmas Shopping day in Redding, CA with her 2 daughters, so we're up at 6:30 am which is really early for us these days. While Kathy was eating breakfast, Ricky (one of our cats) and I went out in the front yard and took some shots of the sunrise. My probably is that very time I set up my tripod, Ricky like rubbing up against it, sometimes messing up a shot, eh!! ;-)) Since the temp was only 29º, but the time I headed back into the house carrying my aluminum tripod, my hands were like ice. So the first thing I did was fixed me a hot cup of coffee and hold it in my hands while I was nuking my 3 minute egg, sausage, cheese breakfast muffin!! Then by the time that was done, I had to warm up my coffee again!! ;-))

Since we've been having a lot of raining lately, it was really nice to take the flag out this morning and see such a beautifully sunny day. Later on about 8:30 am when we left the house, the temp was still only 30º and we had to wait a few minutes with the defroster on high, before I could see to back the car down our steep driveway. As I rounded the bend in the roadway, we could see the Trinity Mts and I pulled over into our garden area road and took a few shoots of the fresh snow coverage. Then we drove on down into the lake of fog that was covering Weaverville, turned right on Hwy #299 / Main Street and heading on the 47 miles to Redding.

We weren't surprised to see lots of pretty Fall Colors all around the warmer and lower elevation of Redding, but today my idea was to take shots of all the fresh snow all around the greater area. Mt Shasta was completely covered with clouds, so no pictures there. Same with Mt Lassen too. But I got a lot of shots of lower mt tops that had a heavy dusting of snow, eh!! ;-)) But while I was taking shots at Whiskeytown Lake, a couple birds kept hopping around me and I finally got off a shot before they hopped off again. Fresh Snow, Misc Pictures, Airplane, Bike, Cats, etc . . .

Hi Everyone, .... see all of my pictures here ....

To those of you that don't know it, we've been having a lot of below freezing temps the past couple of weeks and then we got some relief when the rains started. When the heavy cloud cover rises we get glimpses of fresh snow up on the higher peaks around us. Then when I see an opening in the clouds and stop the car, grab my camera and get out to take a shot, the clouds have covered most of the shot, eh!! But today while in town I did get some good enough shots so you all can see that the snow level is getting down almost to our level. So I'm thinking a couple more good rain storms will have snow falling all around our place, eh!! ;-(( That means that I'll have to start shoveling snow again. Bah Humbug!!

I have a lot of variety of pictures again this time as you'll see. All are of interest to me and some will be of interest to different people. Like Stacy like planes so you may like the Airplane for sale or trade and is a 'biker' so might like the Bike too, eh!! ;-)) The Butterfly is for my sister, Jo!! Most of my ebuddies love Cats as Kathy and I do, so will like the cats pictures. As for the MyBacon_NOT picture, you'll just have to read about it in my slide show so I don't have to repeat myself. All in all, I just hope you all enjoy some or all of my Blog Pictures, eh!!

Misc Grab Bag of Stuff !!

Today I have a ton of different stuff for everyone. More Fall Colors from our trip into Redding on the 20th, some interesting Cloud and Moon shots. Some sexy shots especially for new ebuddy Ron Steves!! ;-)) A very old shot of me, Stacy Maness & Johnnie Brinson from way back in 1976!! A lot of misc pictures that I ran across while searching for some Christmas Toy Pictures for Barbara Maness. Some custom car and bike shots, hi-boys, etc, for us 'hot rodders'. A few Linux/Geek pictures for my son Randy!! ;-)) A upside-down plane picture to remind Stacy Maness to keep his bike AND plane RIGHT-SIDE UP, eh!! ;-0

Lastly, the 'avi' file is really huge (49 mb's), so I'd say just skip this one unless you have cable/hi-speed connection OR if you just want to hear me bitch about almost getting run over by a downhill semi pulling a 'low-boy' trailer, hauling a big, heavy, over-width piece of equipment like a CAT!! He did have red wide-load flags on the trailer, BUT he had NO pilot car going ahead of him to warn people!! Luckily, I was only going about 20 mph coming up to this very sharp AND blind corner at the edge of our property and was able to pull into a small turn out area quickly, because we heard him hits his brakes as they were really squealing, but he could never have come to a full stop till he hit us and pushed us backwards a couple hundred feet OR over the hill side!!! So to vent I made a little video that I can show anyone on the town council, CHP, DMV, Road Dept, etc, and ask them in person why it's been over 31 years in just talking about straightening this nasty curve and still have done NOTHING other than send me a form to sign every couple of years, giving them the right to work on my property!! The last time I filled out this form a year ago, I stated that they better keep this form in their files for the future, as I will NOT ever sign it again, as it seems to be a waste of my time & energy, eh!!

P.S. ~ The 'slide show' is the various pictures that I took of where this semi had to go off the road way to even make this sharp turn and how the various drivers make this turn with a low-boy is when coming down Oregon Street, they drive off the right side as far as possible climbing the hill a bit and when the back wheels/tires of the trailer start dropping off the left side into the canyon/culvert, they just power the semi to pull it back up onto the roadway and that's about the time I came around the bottom and meet him taking up the whole lane!!! ;-0

Friday the 9th, our daughter Lourie, her daughter Kalee and her daughter Alycia, came up for a couple hours visit and of course I was forced into shooting a bunch of shots of our GREAT Grand Daughter Alycia, eh!! ;-)) The 'Jeremy' and 'Kids' pictures are full size scans, that I haven't had time to 'crop' out individually yet, but wanted to show them off too, so they are kind of large files to download and view. Thunder Storms, Fog, Fall Colors, Halloween, GAC Bugle and Senior News

We've had a couple good rock & rolling Thunder Storms, and you'll see come good shots there. I shot of Will Greer was from the tv, as Kathy had paused the 'Waltons' show to get another refill of Coke, as I walked into the Living Room and noticed how tried 'Gran Pa Walton' looked. So I grabbed my camera to take yet another one of my 'paused' tv show shots. Then more beautiful Fall Colors and Clouds shots too. The 'MyDoctor...' shots were of some of the Hospital and Clinic Staff and another patient, while I was waiting to see my own doctor. I hadn't even thought of it being Halloween Day, eh!! ;-))

We've been getting a lot of Heavy Fog this past week, so I tried taking some shots that show that big 'lake of fog' that we see just below our elevation in the early morning hours, that is hanging over Weaverville. I used to hate getting up to a beautiful sunny morning, only to drive down the mountain and into that stuff, just to go to work. The GAC Bugle is for anyone that wants to read it, as it does have some good health notes, a couple jokes and the menu for November too. The Trinity Journal scans are for those that want to read about what's been happening in our little County Seat of Trinity County, eh!! Also, a lifelong friend of the family passed away, Sister Brinson as I usually called her, as her husband was Brother Brinson to me. They were Mother & Father of John or Johnnie Brinson to all that know the family. They moved up here to Weaverville about the same time my family did in 1976. Very good people that will be missed, but now together in heaven, eh!! ;-))

The article about Francesca's Beauty Shop, she is the daughter of Tony who owns Marinos Restaurant here in town and she has been talking about opening her shop for months now. The article about Howard & Arlene, Howard is our local Supervisor for our area these days, but I have known them since moving up here in '76!! Hi Everyone, ... see all shots here ...

I put 'DCPlayers' first, so you could read about one of our local bands that's up and coming, eh!! Brian Madden, one of the members, I've know for maybe 20 years now, because he worked at Tops Store for years, then for Sysco Products in Redding with our son-in-law Tom Edwards for a few year and now he's back with us at Tops again. The the 'Bird' shot I tried explaining with that picture!! Lucy funny!! ;-)) The first group of 'FallColors' were taken while Kathy was waiting for her doctor appointment and there were no extra seating, so I grabbed my camera and just started walking down the streets looking for some good shots. And I think I got a lot, eh!! ;-)) Especially, a couple with the sun shining too.

The 'Lexus' shots were at the hospital next door to the building where Kathy was and I like this body style, so I just had to take a few shots, right!! Probably the closest to owning or driving one I'll ever get?? ;-0 The '3in1' shot I focused the shot to include the pretty brown leaf too, but did NOT even see the tiny spiked flower behind it, till I was editing all my shots. Nice that it get into the shot too, eh!! ;-)) Then even more 'FallColors' shots. Now, I took a lot of 'Moon' shots but only included these 6 because they looked the best to me. The 'Ricky'sGrowth' shot was totally by accident, as Ricky was walking around and I was focusing in on him and when he stopped, I just shot the picture. Again, I didn't even see the grass 'growing' out of his back, till I got ready to take a 2nd shot.

The 'GrasshopperFlats' and 'CanyonCreek' shots were taken because Dad purchased this property with his brother Leonard and his brother-in-law Lee McNeil, way back in 1955. They used this area as a 'vacation' area for hunting, fishing, bringing the family, etc. for years, then dad's place burnt to the ground one day in about 12 minutes flat. So he rebuilt a better home on that spot. Over the years my uncle Leonard and his wife Viola, fixed up and remodeled the original old home that was part of the property and moved up here to live. Then other family members moved up over the years too. Since Leonard was Pastor of our local church down south in Paramount, CA, he built a new church up here with the help of the family and church members and then called Grasshopper Flats, 'Heavens Hill' from then on. Anyway, I hadn't been back up to this area in about 25 years and was out on my bike clearing out my head, so away I went!! I got back home a couple hours later and felt so much better. Only another biker will probably know what I'm talking about, but it really does help clean out those cobwebs, eh!! ;-))

The 'Deer' shots were taken from my front door and deck, but I spooked them and couldn't get shots of all the deer. I kept telling them that I was a good guy and only wanted to 'shoot' them with my camera, but I guess that they didn't really believe me, eh!! But I guess one Doe was hanging around to guard her 2 fawns and boy did she keep an eye on me!! Then we had some really nasty high winds that made not only a big mess, but had us wondering about if any of our tall Pines were going to come down on us!! Thankfully, none did!! Then on our way home we stopped off at our local quilt shop so Kathy could pick up the October 'Block of the Month' and they rotate the quilts hanging in the shop every month, so I took more shots of these 'new' quilts, eh!!

Lastly, I've added some news photos of the fires down in my old stomping grounds, all around the Greater Los Angeles area too. All the fires started on the 13th or 14th and the law thinks most were arson!! I just heard on the news today, the 28th, that all fires are now contained and under control, but still being watched for hot spots!! And I hope that you enjoy ALL of these shots today!! ;-))

Fall Colors, 3rd Snowfall, Cats, Old Cars

Hi Everyone, .... see all my shots here ....

For all you cats lovers the first 3 shots are of Ricky looking for Lucy who's inside the back tube!! ;-)) And Saturday our week's rain finally stopped, the sun came out and we had a beautiful day, even tho the temp stayed in the low 40's all day. I usually don't go to bed till around 2 am most mornings, some times later too. But since the temp had dropped down to the low 30's even earlier I had a faucet dripping. I had been checking our water often and it had stopped running about 2 am!!! So of course I ran both the hot and cold water a couple minutes and it opened right up. Then I got up about 4 am and checked it again and it was still running!!

And all that rain and cold temps gave us our 3rd Snowfall of the season too. Kind of early and old man weather doesn't know that I'm guessing, eh!! ;-)) It wasn't really heavy but Kathy says that in all the 25 years she's lived up here, the 3rd snowfall is when the snow starts sticking and the levels start heading down our way. So we're waiting to see what happens over the next week, eh!! ;-)) And of course with all our Fall Colors coming out all around our area now, I have a lot of shots of color too.

Now for all of us 'Hot Rodders', our local car club, the 'Weaver City Street Rodders' had some kind of small gathering in the local Elementary School parking lot and when I saw them I had to stop the car and get some shots, right. It's one of my American Rights!! Just as I was pulling away, a 1964 Chevy El Camino came down the road and joined the group. It was a dirty while with a lot of gray primer all over the body, but boy ... magnificent WHEELS!! ;-)) Hope you all enjoy all of my shots, eh!!

Normally, I only go into town on Wednesdays for my mail run/misc and then again on Saturdays for our weekly shopping. But this week Kathy had reasons for me to in on Monday, Tuesday AND Wednesday so far!! I know, blame it on the wife, eh!! ;-)) But I had to pick up dinners on both Monday & Tuesday at our local Senior Center , where I worked for over 23+ years. So of course I had my camera with me to take shots of all the beautiful Fall Colors all around and since it's been raining a lot we've been getting fresh snow up higher on the Trinity Alps too. I've got shots of the 1st & 2nd snowfalls and last night the temps dropped under 40º, so I'm anxious to check out the mountains on Friday, as we couldn't see them all day today, Thursday!! Weaverville Annual Quilt Show 2007, Quilts, Autumn/Fall Colors, Bikes/Bikers, Butterflies, Sunset & Sunrise too!!

I've been one busy dude over this weekend!! Saturday the 6th we walked Main Street of Weaverville, looking and taking shots of all the beautiful quilts hanging in front of the stores and also at the Highland Art Center area. Then after we got home at about 4:30 pm Saturday, ate dinner and relaxed a bit, I've been working on/off with all my shots to edit them mostly in size to upload to my web site and Blog. Well, I finished about 5:30 pm today, Sunday, eh!! ;-)) I ended up with 146 shots in the Quilt Show folder, but some of those included the decorations at the Bandstand, some Fall Decorations and items at a couple stores. It also includes all the shots of the concession stands too, but most of them had quilts hanging around there too. I tried to include a lot of wide angle shots showing off our old buildings since Weaverville is an 'Historic' town, eh!! Besides, I think it makes the shots more interesting too. So for those of you that just wanted to see quilts and nothing else ... just get over it, eh!! ;-)) Of note to is that my dear wife Kathy had 3 of her quilts entered too and I labeled them so you would know which ones, eh!! Ok, for all of you that want to just see the Quilt Show Pictures, then CLICK HERE !!

For those of you that just want to see all the 'other' pictures you can CLICK HERE !! I have some beautiful Sunset and Sunrise shots and believe it or not most all have NOT been edited, eh!! ;-)) I just happened to go outside to pull down our Flag and caught the 'Sunset' at the right couple of minutes and our cat Ricky wanted outside at just the right time for me to get the 'Sunrise' shots!! I took 3 video shots of the 'Sunrise' too, but I was in a very awkward position holding my camera up to our family room window, while leaning sideways over the arm of our Futon. So they all 3 were a bit shaky and all looked about the same in content, so I only uploaded the 3rd one as it showed a bit more color, eh!! Now if I'd had some clothes on and went outside with my tripod and zoomed in some, I'm sure the video would have come out so much better, right!! Some of the 'Fall Color' shots and all the 'Bike' shots were taken while I was taking all the 'Quilt' shots, eh!! Just hope you get some enjoyment out of viewing my pictures, don't you know!! ;-))

We've been getting more and more changes in our weather the past few days, getting colder and more winds. So I've been taking a lot of 'Fall Color' shots and since Ricky our cat like to follow me around our property while I'm setting up my various shots and run his body against my tripod, I'm always taking shots of him too!! I think he's wanting that extra attention, eh!! ;-)) I've included a short video that I shot thru out window blinds from our living room, of one of our local Stellar Jay, but you may not want to download it unless you have the time or use a 'hi-speed' connection. I also added 3 pictures of the Quilts that Kathy is entering in our local Annual Quilt Show this Saturday. I hope you all enjoy all these pictures as usual.

Guess what ... we got some actual RAIN TODAY!!! ;-)) Finally!! Now if it will stay for a couple days, eh!! Ok, for more excitement, I have some 'Full Moon' shots that came out pretty good with a little editing, some shot of a nice clear Ford Deluxe (40's??), a pretty Red 327 Camaro too and a really nice Chevy Hi-Boy!! A lot of Fall Color shots and a couple of Ricky 'treed' again!! Then a had a Doe and her 2 young 'spiked horn' Bucks with her. I got outside the front door without them bolting, and as a matter of fact I think they were about as interested in my taking shots of them as I was enjoying their visit, eh!! Sorry for showing off so many of their shots, but I didn't add all of their shots to my Blog. I named all the shots 'Buck_SpikedHorns', even tho there were 2 bucks and a Doe, so I could keep all the shots looking as the same 'theme', ok!! ;-))) Then I added 4-5 miscellaneous shots that just happen to be in the same folder, especially the 'BadAssTrike', eh!! The single Eagle picture I pulled off of the Westwood, CA, Chamber of Commerece web site, while I was there checking their elevation, as they had 3" of early snow on Saturday the 29th. And this was of interest to us, as Kathy was born and grew up in Westwood. She said that most winters they had 6'-8' as normal and a lot of times they had to exit the house thru a 2nd floor window to get out/in the house, eh!! BTW, she also said she loves Weaverville since we get a whole lot less snow up here at our 2800' elevation!! ;-))) Hope you enjoy them all.

Hi Everyone, .... see the rest of my shots here ....

I'm still playing around with some of my camera settings and finding/testing new 'tools' that I keep finding in my photo software. So here's hoping you enjoy them all, eh!! ;-)) Since tonight, Wednesday the 26th, is a FULL MOON night, I've been getting some shot of that coming on. Wide angle shots, night shots with/without the flash, zoom shots, etc, and then playing around editing most of them one way or another. Some actually have NO editing!! Then in the 'treefocus' shots I was trying to show off the delicate needles of that one tree to the left, as it really caught my eye when setting up these shots. Then of course there are more shots of our cat Lucy, too!! ;-))

The 'BlueRoadRacer' was parked at our local Hospital on Monday the 24th, when I took Kathy in for a normal follow-up at the Clinic. Instead of sitting in the waiting room with her as normal, reading women's magazines, I grabbed my camera and walked around getting some great cloud shots, eh!! I noticed that the left/front fender had been replaced, so I'm just guessing the driver may have been racing this little 'hottie' a bit to fast around one of our mountain roads?? ;-)) The 'HouseInTrees' is a house that Kathy and I look at all the time, thinking it is in such a pretty setting. Don't you agree??

As they say, Last but not Least ... Lourie, mom of Kalee our grand daughter, gave us a small school picture of Kalee last Sunday when she and sister Sherri were up here for a visit and to bring us some foods prepared by 'Chef' Sherri, but that's another story, eh!! ;-)) Anyway, I took the small picture, scanned it and by enlarging it that much, it not only was more 'grainy' but had hundreds of tiny white specks or dots all over the picture!! So I did a LOT of editing the picture and then made 4 different sizes/copies, 2 with frames, so that I could use them myself as in this blog update and so any of the family could 'save' them to their own computers, eh!! What a looker now that she ditched that yellow-blonde hair color!! ;-))

Hi Everyone, .... see all of my shots here ....

Our Fall Colors are stating to show up here, with a lot of leaves disappearing and some reds & yellows coming on. So most of my shots are of scenery like my normal clouds, trees, bikes and sunset shots. But while I was shooting a close up shot way high in one of our tall pines, a Raven fly into the shot and I got him quite by accident on the first shot. The next 2 shots I was hoping he would turn around and face me, but he decided to fly on away. The flower shots after the 'Quilt' shot, were all taken just outside the quilt shop door facing Hwy #3 or Trinity Lakes Highway. Our local Garden Club plants and cares for these flowers year after year. They always look so nice in summer and now they are fading away with fall coming on around here.

Be sure to check out the 180º pano shot ... DSCF5992-98_StormClouds_180-Degree-pano.JPG ... of how our day look today while we were in town shopping. We got a drop or two while shopping and when we arrived home it was trying to sprinkle a bit. But about an hour or so later, it really cut loose for about 20 minutes. But no big raining that we need so badly around here. Everything is so dry and dying and our well is so low!!

Then I added some 'misc' graphics people send me in emails and such, and thought I enjoy them too. The 'Before_AFTER' & 'HillaryClinton_Bazaar' pictures came together with a little note stated that these make overs didn't help her one bit!! ;-)) The 'Autos_Flames' shows you what a 'REAL' custom flame paint job looks like, eh!! The 'BikersRoad' is what I think would be fun riding, since I'm a biker and the 'Bikes_YellowTrike' is just plain cute!! ;-))

Now for the 2 videos ... do NOT download these unless you just MUST see them OR you have a 'hi-speed' connection!! Because they are fairly large files, ok!! And saving the best for last, if you remember me adding pictures of baby Maia awhile back, well she just had her FIRST Birthday Party and proud granny, Kathy's 'baby' sister Karen, sent us these pictures a couple days ago. The 'NoWater' shots are our poor dead plants on our deck, because of our lack of water this year. I really miss all the color we usually have on the deck, because of all the stuff that Kathy put all around the deck. I've been using what little water we can share, to keep our 2 new trees, my potted tree, Kathy's tomato plant and our pretty climbing vine watered just enough to hopefully keep them alive till we get some rain!! Speaking of rain, we've had some bitchin' storm clouds as you'll see in my pictures, but NO actual rain to date. This morning I could see some almost invisible rain spots on our deck, but even that was gone within the hour. It's been cold and dreary all day long, but no rain in sight.

There are so many shots of our local deer and squirrel, mostly because this is the first time I've ever had them actually pose for me. They seemed to just ignore me and go about what ever they were doing, eh!! I throw away about 1/3 of my shots, because they were not focused, blurring or I didn't have the camera aimed at them good. Why you asked?? I was shooting thru my office window and leaning over my desk, trying to aim, focus and hold steady as possible in that position. So the ones that you're seeing are the better ones, ok!! ;-)) The squirrel just kept running all around my driveway area, up/down the little knoll, out of sight and then back again. So I just kept shooting. Hope you enjoy all the pictures, even the 'hot' little Nissan Truck too!!

Autumn Leaves, Ricky, Sunsets & Storm Clouds, '58 Chevy Apache Truck, Australian Gift

Hi Everyone, .... see all my shots here, eh!! ....

We've been getting a lot of nasty storm clouds the past few days, but still NO rain!! Like come on, fill up my empty well, eh!! But I did get me some good shots. I was at our local State Farm dealer a few days ago and asked about that beautiful chainsaw carve Eagle that I was showing off in my last Blog Update. It WAS made by our local guy and I told them that I'd taken some shots and put the shots up on my Blog too!! So people all around the country would get to see it too, eh!! So while I was there I took a better angle, framing and sun light shot. Enjoy!!

The Flag in a couple of the shots is on our deck and the winds were really a whipping it around while I was shooting, so I just left it in these shots. The Chevy Apache truck for sale belongs to one of the guys that works at Tops Market were we get our groceries, so since I like 'hot' custom vehicles I just had to take a few shots, right!! ;-)) The 'WildEdit' shot was a badly out of focus shot that I just played around with till I got something that kind of looked like an artist's painting to me. Interesting, eh!! I took a few shots of Ricky, because it was interesting to see him walk all around the edge of the car windows and not fall off, eh!! ;-)) All but this one were out of focus because he just kept moving all the time. The shot of Kathy's Kitchen Tall is something that one of her friends sent her from Canada, after she got back home from an Australian vacation, because it would have cost way to much to send it directly while on vacation!! We thought it funny that the pictures were 'designed' in Australia by an Australian Artist, BUT ... was made in CHINA!! ;-)) I see that I spelled 'Autumn' wrong, but it's way to much trouble to go back and change it, and I wanted to show you that some leaves around here in our mountains are starting to turn colors already.

We're at about 2,800 ft elevation and we've been getting high temps in the mid-60's the past few days and in the mornings neither Kathy or I want to get out of our nice warm bed!! ;-))) This morning was our normal shopping day, so we got up at 8 am and when I got out of the shower I wished that I'd turned on the bathroom heater before showering. After I got dressed and went to put out our Flag I looked at the temp and it was ONLY 51º at about 8:30 am!! We left for town about 9:15 am, went to Marinos to eat breakfast, it was way to noisy and crowded, so we went across the street to BK and as soon as we got out of the car, OFF came our jackets, eh!! Strange weather!!

Doe & Fawn, Custom Bikes, Misc Graphics, Tattoo-Winged Girl

Hi Everyone, .... see all shots here ....

I've got another batch of miscellaneous stuff again. I left in 6, including the wings tatoo graphics that we're in my emails. The shots of the Doe and Fawn that dropped by for a visit, were taken out of my office window. I'm positive that in the past 31 years of living here, that momma brings by her new babies year after year and then those babies pick up the tradition and bring their new babies by and it just continues thru the next generation, right!! At least that's what Kathy and I like to believe anyway!! ;-)) The 'BKBikes' shots were taken at our local Burger King, while I was there getting some foods for us to take home. I'm a biker to those that don't know it, and my love of 'springer' front ends is known far & wide, and yet I've never own a bike with a springer front end in my 47 years of riding bikes, eh!! ;-0 The 'Intruder' that was parked by the Harley was a nice clean bike too, with a candy 'firemist' type paint job, but no match for that bitchin' paint job on the HD, eh!! ;-)) Then on shopping day as we were leaving the Tops parking lot facing our local consignment store, here was a guy cleaning/shining a custom 'Big Dog' Custom Bike and of course I had to stop and get a off a few shots, right!! While shooting and talking, I found out that Bob had helped install the carpet in our house and the rental house, eh!! The bike has won in 3 bike shows and if beautiful!! I really like that front wheel too. I can see it on my own Honda Spirit, eh!! But Bob wouldn't let me have if like for FREE!!!! ;-0

The 'Eagle' shots were taken at our local State Farm Agent, who btw insures most all of our property, minus my bike, because Progressive Ins Co price was about 50% cheaper at the time I purchased the bike for the same or better coverage. Just a hint to any bikers seeing this, eh!! I just happen to love Eagles anything, but this really caught my eye. I've got to find out if it was done by a local chainsaw artist that has his works all around town. I hope you enjoy this type of art as much as I do. Enjoy, eh!! ;-)) The 'TexileTraditions' shots were taken at a local Quilt Shop. We had stopped by to pick up some tread, material and fat quarters. They change the wall hangings about every month, so I got some more pretty quilt patten shots, right!! All of the 'image' shots I pulled out of slide show or power point presentation that one of my ebuddies sent me and instead of just forwarding them to all of my other ebuddies, I just added them to my Blog for everyone/anyone to see too. The 'Album' slide show that is included as normal includes ALL of the pictures this time, if you just want to view it alone, ok!! ;-))

Hi Everyone, .... see all shots here, eh!! ....

The past couple of days we've been getting some really great storm clouds and thunderheads, but not getting any rain!! Yesterday while I was in Burger King getting a couple take-outs, there were 6-8 drops of rain on the seat & gas tank of my bike. Then this after noon before dinner while I was at my computer, I could hear rolling thunder way off in the distance, and our barometer is way above 'Rain', but again no rain!! Maybe someday, eh!! ;-)) Anyway, I got some really great shots both Wednesday & Thursday, but the individual shots just didn't do justice, so you'll see that a made them into 'panorama' shots for better viewing, ok!! Hope you enjoy them all, eh!!

Hi Everyone, .... see all pictures here, eh!! ....

I have another mixed bag of goodies for you this time. My sister 'Jo' complained about me taking more shots of Ricky than Lucy, so Jo this update is a must see for you, eh!! ;-)) After shopping last Saturday the 25th, we went to our fabric store, Textile Traditions to pick up Kathy's 'Block of the Month', grab a few shots of some new quilts hanging in the store and get her a 'fat quarter' of new colorful material they just got in. They also have a lot of very colorful material of Australia coming in too and we both like bright colors too. But as we were leaving the parking lot to the store there were 2 really nice looking Mustangs on the street that I just had to get some shots of, right. As I started to shot the cars I noticed a Victory motorcycle across and up the street so I got a couple shots of it, one by walking up the street and just a bit pass the bike. Then I noticed a Candy Red Harley further up and got a couple shots of it by zooming in on it, eh!! So all of you car and bike nuts, I hope you enjoy the extra effort I put out to add these shots too!! ;-)) I've also included my gas receipt too, because the prices dropped so dramatically that I couldn't believe it. And depending on what you pay for local gas, when was the last time in memory that the prices dropped 24 cents from one Saturday to the next???

Now when you get to 'Monica Dahl' and her shots, I've been looking little by little thru her web site on 'YouTube'?? and she has some very interesting and unusual pictures taken by herself with various types of cameras, including one that has 4 lens that shows 4 variations of the shot in one picture. I just picked out a few of what caught my own eye and I hope you enjoy her stuff too.

The 'Not A Cloud In The Sky Pano' was shot at Marinos just before we went inside for breakfast and you can see what a great view we have from their place. The articles from TTJ or The Trinity Journal may be of interest to some and not others, but as for the Saw Mill Saloon, they are already cleaning up for rebuilding and Nancy says she's going to keep her place open!! That's very good news to a lot of our locals!! ;-))

Weaver City Annual Car Show In The Park 2007

Ok, I've got a ton of pictures for you, as I took 196 shots just at the car show!! ;-)) NO, I did not use all of them, ok. What I did do tho was try to split them into smaller groups with my slide shows to help you out. And as usual you can still just look thru all the files and pick out only the shots that you may want to see too.

ALBUM_A . . . is all Motorcycles and has a picture of our local Saw Mill Saloon at the end, because it might be of interest to Barb & Stacy of Texas, who are bikers and used to live around here about 30 years ago. Anyway, they had a really bad fire presumedly on Friday the 17th and we saw it on Saturday morning coming to eat at Marinos which is about the 4th business building from them. The first few labeled 'HD_Marinos' is of a nice bike parked out front when we arrived. The next labeled 'TCC' are about one of our locals here that works at the town's saw mill. Jerry Kloose and has been building the very long 'raked' bike for over 5-6 years now. He always says it's 'a work in progress', eh!! The other 3 bikes are For Sale at his tiny area called Trinity County Choppers, off to the side of a ex-service station turned into a garage now days. Since I love 'springer' models I really liked taking shots of that one, eh!! ;-)) All 3 bikes had great custom paint jobs and I tried showing that off with some really close up shots.

ALBUM_B . . . is all 'group' or 'pano' shots that I put together from 2 to 7 shots. This will give you a general overall set of pictures with mostly a variety of vehicles and people milling all around looking at the cars/trucks, with me trying to get off some good shots, eh!! ;-)) If you're a sharp looker, you'll see one of my pano shots where a lady was on the left side of a car in one shot and then on the right side of the next shot and my pano software in putting all the shots together shows her twice, eh!!

ALBUM_C . . . is all the other shots that were left over and include a lot of close ups of some really great looking cars and trucks, eh!! My passion runs from old to new, classics to odd balls, Fords to Chevys, etc, but what I really love is how these cars look and run. My favorite color is dark Reds, but there were other colors that I would have loved just as much IF I owned the cars myself, right!! ;-)) Especially the Candy Purple Sedan!!! Then again there was the '34 Plymouth with the Suicide Doors!! Or the Red/White Lowered '56 Chevy too!! Hmmmm . . . way to many to make a decision right now, eh!! ;-))

Slide Shows/Videos/Movies & Pictures too

Hi Everyone, ... check ALL here ...

I'm trying some 'new' stuff on you all today. I've been testing & tweaking my slide show software, JAlbum, and have finally figured out how to not only change a lot of the settings, but to actually 'SAVE' them too!! All of the 9 slide shows only took 2 to 3 seconds to make each slide show, eh!! Mostly due to NOT having to re-set everything from one slide show to the next. And a lot of people have been sending me groups of pictures, so instead of just adding a link to them individually, I made them into mini-slide shows, ok!! ;-)) The trick is to find them with my new settings. ANY file name that does NOT end in '.jpg' or '.JPG', or an 'extension', is a slide show. Just click on the file name and it will/should open in your browser and start playing automatically, eh!! If you have any problems, please let me know the file name and what your problem was, ok.

When you see 'Shaw', that is my Uncle John Shaw that lives across the road from me. When you see 'Girls', those are my 'adopted' grand kids!! ;-)) Their real grand parents are my friends Barbara & Stacy Maness, eh!! 'Jo' is my sister and sent me those great pics of cars+, because she knows I love all kind of cars, trucks, bikes, stock or custom, right!! And the 'TTJ' files are out of our local newspaper, The Trinity Journal, and I picked out what I thought would be of interest to various of my ebuddies, eh!! ;-)) Again, do an 'all in one' Blog is making it so much easier on me than sending out 4-5 different emails and links. Old Truck, Custom Cars, Bikes, Wild Flowers, Movies

Hi Everyone, .... see all the shots here ....

Ok, all you car lovers are really going to enjoy this UPDATE!! I'll start right off with one of my FAVORITES, the 1960 Ford Starliner 2-Door Hardtop, eh!! I owned one for many a year and really loved the style, ride and roominess. Then there's a '33 Chevy & '38 Chrysler that has fabulous custom paint jobs, a really clean '55 Chevy Bel Air, a hot looking Yellow Toyota, an old Suicide Door Sedan, a nice looking Red/Black Harley with a Springer Front End which I happen to like, a cute little Red 'Minor'??, a Red Chevelle, a Red Mustang and an old basket case Truck that a guy was taken down to San Diego, CA and start restoring it, eh!! The new owner of the old truck said he keep my updated by emailing me his progress over the next months/years, but to date he hasn't sent me a 'contact' email so I can add him to my address book, eh!!

Then I have a lot of variety for anyone and everyone, so I don't have to send these shots to 5-6 different peoples, eh!! And you've just gotta see the 2 movies too. The 'VRS' movie is hilarious!!! The shot of the 'WoodBees' was taken with my camera in 'burst' mode where I can take up to 5 shots very quickly. There were 5 bees all trying to get at the same flowers and fighting for positions, so I ended up taking a total of 13 shots, just to get this one really good shot, eh!! Hope you all enjoy!!

Our 25th Anniversary, Old & Custom Cars, Whiskeytown Lake, USA Flag-Sun-Trees Shot

Hi Everyone,

Do I have a bunch of pictures for you to start off the month of August, eh!! ;-)) First off, our 25th Anniversary was July 24th and our daughters, Sherri & Lourie, including a lot of help from their family's, gave us a really GREAT Lawn Party at Sherri & Tom's house on Sunday the 29th. So please don't get mad at all of the pictures this time, but I added a lot of 'extras' and tried as usual to label them so you can skip the ones the you don't really care to see, right. Remember, instead of mailing to different groups of people, I'm just mailing to one groups now days and putting all of the pictures into only one file now.

For those of you that do NOT know Kathy's family by now, I labeled both the 'files' and the pictures so you can tell who's who. I think Sherri told us there were a total of 21 people that showed up, eh!! ;-)) Only 2 people aren't relatives in one way or another and that is John & Jan Smith. They were out tenants for about 5 years and we really hated seeing them leave too. But when they moved in they told us up front they would only be renting till they found a nice piece of property of their own. So we wished them will and they are now kind of family, so we invited them and they came to help us celebrate too. Thanks guys if you read this!! ;-)))

I keep the rest of this short because of all the variety of things within my pictures this time, so please just look at ALL OF THE FILE NAMES and look at what seems to interest YOU, ok!! But if you only pick one file to look at, you gotta check out the 'CatswothAnnitudes11.wmv' !!! Honest!!!! ;-))) If you look at my 'ALBUM', I tried to 'bunch' similar shots all together, starting with our 25th Anniversary Party, ok!!

On our way back home from Redding after the Anniversary Party, we started seeing a lot of 'custom' or 'older' cars in groups heading east on Hwy #299. Later Sunday night when checking my email, my car friend that I grow up with down south, said that they had driven their '31 Chevy to Fortuna, CA to a car show. This is the same car that was wrecked last year and I had sent you all progress reports while he, Bill and his wife Ann had rebuilt over a few months time. So I'm just guessing that these cars were coming back from Fortuna, eh!! I tried taking some pictures thru the car windshield while driving, but they usually had driven by before I could even turn on my camera, eh!! But when we pulled into Weaverville and stopped at our local shopping area, I got some good shots of 3 Vette's, 1 '58 Chevy Impala and a really great looking '41 Cadillac too!! There are a couple other Redding and local car shots too. Of course more Sunset shots, Whiskeytown Lake, Flag/Sun, Ricky, etc, shots too. Hope you enjoy one and all, eh!!

Kathys Buffalo Nickel Earrings, Birds, Clouds, Sunsets, Suzuki Bike, Lucy & Ricky

I was going to add just a few more pictures to my Blog Update of the 19th, but then I took more pictures and then when we went shopping on Saturday the 21st shot even more, so I just decided to make a brand new entry. Norman Heryford, when you look at the 'bird' shots will you please tell me what kind of birds these are?? I think they are Finches, but you know me and birds that aren't either Ravens or Buzzards, right!! ;-)) Also, my sister Jo was wondering why I took MORE shots of Ricky, than I did of Lucy and I think I've figured it out. Lucy just lays around the house all day and night and Ricky is outside a lot, running all about, posing at any given time, chasing our deer and birds. So I see a lot of shots and take them. About all Lucy does is sleep between my legs when I'm eating or watching tv and I have taken a couple shots where she stretches really big and then turns over to go back to sleep or to move over the the top/back of our sofa, eh!! ;-))

But as you will see I took a lot of very pretty Sunset shots and the winds up high were just a pushing the clouds into so many shapes and colors that I set up my tripod and just stood there taking shots for about 30 minutes, eh!! It looked like God was painting and I was getting watch it all happening. But then it started getting to dark and all the colors were fading away so I stopped. I just hope you all can enjoy my shots as much as I enjoyed seeing the real thing happening before my eyes, eh!!

Since our closest mountains, the Trinity Alps were mostly void of any clouds, I zoomed in about 70% on the far away mountains out by Trinity Center to get that one nice shot of clouds. Then Kathy wore a second pair of the earrings I got her for our 25th 'Silver' Anniversary, with the help of Barb & Stacy Maness, so I just had to take a couple shots of her 'Buffalo Nickel' Earrings, right!!! And then I couldn't drive by that nice looking bike when we were pulling into the Longs parking lot, eh!! ;-)) So once again I hope you enjoy all of the variety of pictures!!

Hi Everyone, .... see all my shots here!! ....

My friend Barb in TX sent me some great Sunset shots from their last little bike run to Port Aransas, TX, where they did a little fishing too. And she also sent me 4 more shots of my 'adopted' grand kids of hers too. So I hope you enjoy her pictures too, eh!!

Wednesday the 18th I rode my bike up to Oregon Summit to take some shots because we had some of the greatest clouds!! I've only included the 'pano' shots this today but I'll add the single shots as I can get around to it and let you know, ok. This time it seemed like my bike was in the way a lot, so instead of moving it for a shot, I just left it in. Hope you don't mind, eh!! ;-)) Then on my way home as I was rounding the sharp V turn at the bottom of our houses, I came close to hitting a nice Buck that was starting to cross the roadway coming out behind a big tree. So I slowed down quickly and pulled over to the side of the road and stopped, as I had my camera hanging around my neck. I got off very slowly to not spook him, and just turn my camera on, pointed and shoot, because I figured that he'd be running, right. NOT!! He just stood there looking at me so I got off another 2-3 focused shoots AND a video too. After looking at these shots on my computer, I swear that he posed for me too!! Check it out!!

The shots of my bike and me in the Red 'Texas State Rally' T-Shirt, were taken with a timer and the shirt was sent to me by Barb and Stacy Maness, of the Temple, TX 'Horny Toad HD' HOG Chapter they are members of. I mostly wanted everyone to see these shots too, instead of just Barb & Stacy, eh!! The shots of Lucy and Ricky were because just a few seconds before I got my camera, they were taunting each other thru our living room windows. But of course as soon as I turned on my camera, they started ignoring each other or maybe it was me they were ignoring, eh!! ;-)) So I took one picture without the flash and one with the flash, because I knew that I could not get a good shot of both either way. Then after I tried to edit them to show both cats and that didn't work, I copied and pasted a lighter version from each picture over the darker one from each picture. So just ignore my off color and enjoy the shots of both cats, ok!!

Then of course I just had to share some beautiful Sunset shots I got thru out Pine trees, eh!! Hope you enjoy them too. The last 4 items I scanned out of The Trinity Journal from Wednesday because I thought they might be of interest to some of you. Again, I'm adding ALL my shots into the same Blog, instead of sending various people just a couple here and another couple there, eh!! And aren't those Triplets just so adorable!! We've had a Doe with 'twins' come around a lot over the 31 years I've lived up here, but I've never seen triplets yet. One day, eh!!

Hi Everyone, .... see all the pictures here ....

I went to town today to take in my trash to the dump and my recyclables to get some gas money for my truck!! The dump fees were only $5.38 this time and I got $24.99 for my coke cans, plastic & glass bottles. Most people would just throw everything away, but NOT ME!! Of course I can't fill my gas tank anymore as I used to do a few years back!! But it's $25 bucks in my pocket ... literally!! Because the guy just handed me a $20 and a $5!! ;-))) So I even made a penny on the deal too!!

For all of us bikers, be sure to check out the engravings on the Harley!! I tried to give you a good overall view of both the front tubes and the front rim. I was so engrossed in getting good shots of the engravings to give you, I completely forgot to check the rear rim!! I'll just blame it on a friend of mine coming over to see what I was doing, eh!! Misdirection?? ;-))

Kathy's Earrings, Bikes, Clouds, Sunsets, Quilts & A People/Dog Fountain too!!

Hi Everyone, .... see all the shots here, eh!! ....

Last Saturday we had some really nice shaped clouds in the morning and then a great sunset that night. Also, Kathy wore one of her new pairs of earrings too, so of course I just had to get a couple shot of the earrings that I liked the best, eh!! '-)) Then we stopped off at Textile Traditions in the Historic Downtown area of Weaverville and when walking from the parking lot to the shop, I saw a few bikes so took some shots. We found out there was some biker doings over in Hayfork, CA this weekend, so that told us why we had been seeing so many bikers driving thru town, parking at various 'watering holes' and getting fuel, eh!! But they were all over town the approximate 5 hours we were in town!! It's to bad that I couldn't have gotten 2-3 of each bike, because there were some really NICE bikes!! But 99% of them were moving to fast for me to pick up my camera off the front seat and snap a shot, eh!!

Then the couple of shots of that Fountain, that was so pretty that it caught Kathy's eye when I parked to grab a couple long zoom shots to get that bright orange bike and kept yelling 'get a shot of the fountain!!' and I didn't even see it because I was looking for a water fountain that was bubbling or like a waterfall, eh!! ;-)) Then when we were in the Quilt Shop, I took some pictures of a couple quilts, one which we hope to win!! Then today I scanned the 'fat quarters' that we bought at the shop. The dark red material I picked out and when Kathy say it said she just had to have a FQ of that too!!! ;-)) Hope you enjoy all the various shots today!!

Misc Shots of Interest

Hi Everyone, .... see all my pictures here ....

While we were at the Hospital in Redding for Kathy's 'Breathing Test', there were all of these great pictures by kids from all over the World in honor of a kid that had been fighting a terrible disease and finally lost the battle. I show the complete Title and Wordings underneath but I couldn't read the words. So I enlarged just the plaque with the words and tried to find a compromise between readable and size, in the 2nd picture 'LARGE TEXT'. Hope you all loves these pictures as much as I did. The biker shots were taken just as the 2 guys were done resting a bit and getting ready to head on to Redding. So they waited a few minutes as I walked around their nice looking bikes and took a few shots, eh!! As I was doing that I noticed the great sunset & stormy clouds all around so I just had to get some shots of that too, right!! ;-)) Then when we arrived at our daughter Sherri's home, they had a few of the family finishing dinner and they started playing with Kalee's new baby Alycia. So out came my camera again. She's such a cutie, eh!! Even when crying!! ;-))

The shots from '5013-5032' were taken in the waiting room where Kathy was having her 'breathing' tests. I'd liked to have taken almost everything home with us, because Kathy & I love 'old' Antique stuff. Especially all of the wood items!! The 'Safeway' shots were mostly to dampen my anger at someone moving the cart corral to block the so called 'safe' walking area to the store. Then Kathy suggested that I should send the pictures to The Jay Leno Show, as people send in dumb stuff like this and he shows it on the show. I'd love to see my pictures and know that hundreds of thousands of people all across the country are seeing it too. Hmmm ... maybe I'll mention this to Safeway Inc when I write them too!! ;-))) And we FINALLY got some rain, but not enough to do any good other than to give us some great smells, eh!! Lastly, it looks like our 'Ricky' got into another fight, just be checking out the quarter size scar on his left cheek, eh!!

Sunsets, Ricky, Cars, Trucks, Roses & American Indian Earrings

Hi Everyone, .... see all of the pictures here ....

Besides some beautiful Sunset shots that I got, I did a lot of playing around with them too. So if you look at the 'file' names you'll see whether I edited them or not. The first 3 were taken at Marino's after breakfast. I came outside and saw a great looking work truck and tilt-back trailer that I would have loved when I first moved up here to Weaverville. Since I had been driving a semi-truck and pulling a roll-back hauling heavy machinery, I could of farm out my service and maybe worked it into a full time job up here?? ;-)) Then I noticed not one tiny cloud anywhere I looked so took that shot. And since I love Red on a car/truck I just had to zoom in on that hot looking Dodge Charger, eh!! ;-)) For those of you that may not have heard thru the grapevine, our well is sucking up more air than water these days, so our poor plants, including a couple trees are really hurting the past 3 weeks with our 100º+ weather up here.

And then I got some good shots of Ricky when I went out to bring in my Flag and then shot a few beautiful Sunset pictures. He was so nosy in watching everything that I was doing, so of course I had to stop and take some shots of him too, eh!! And last but nowhere in the least ... are 3 sets of earrings that I had my friends, Barbara & Stacy Maness in Texas pick up for me while they were on vacation in Indian Territory, eh!! Real hand made jewelry 'imported' via way of Texas, eh!!! ;-)) I've had just an awful time keeping them hidden from Kathy or even talking about them every time she's asking me about looking at the new earrings that she just got from Avon or when we're in shopping at Longs Drugs every week. So instead of just giving them to her and giving her a big kiss, she'll find out when she sees and reads my Blog Update, eh!! How's that for a surprise from a couple that usually just tell the other what to buy for birthdays, anniversary's, Christmas, etc!! BTW, July 24th, 2007 will be our 25th or 'Silver' Anniversary!! ;-)) Thank you Barb & Stacy for your help in surprising Kathy, eh!! '-))

My Blog Update today is very simple, but to the point. Long let our FLAG wave!! Kathy saw our Flag waving almost straight out a couple of days ago and said that I should take a picture. So I did!! ;-)) Then as I was looking at it flying so pretty and thinking about all the people that are fighting for our freedoms and all those other people fighting to take them all away from us, I decided to take even more shots and share them with all of my ebuddies and I'll strongly suggest that you forward this link to anyone that you want to, letting everyone know that we're sick and tired of our own Government, Politicians & Foreigners trying to tell us we can't say anything 'Godly' out in public anymore or our kids can't say prayers in our schools, etc, etc, but standing up for our rights, eh!! And If you have never flown a Flag in your yard ... TODAY is the Day to Start!!

The video is about 16 seconds long and is just beautiful to me, watching it 'flying' almost straight out, eh!! Then I took 5 shots in a 'burst' mode that takes very fast shots in succession. So you have 3 choices OR look at all of them, right!! ;-))

July 5th ... UPDATE!!

I went to town today to run some errands and of course just had to take a couple shots, eh!! BTW, when I left the house a bit after 4:15 pm, the temp was a 'cool' 104º !!! ;-O Our local weather from Google showed a high of 110º for today. As normal for a biker, as long as I was moving the heat didn't really feel to bad. But each time I stopped to go into a building and then came back outside, that dry hot heat would just slam me in the face and get back on my bike a quick as I could, eh!! ;-))) I met a couple other bikers from Eureka at Burger King and when they left home it was in the low 60's. They asked me if I knew just how hot is was and when I told them 104º and where they were heading and they said 'Redding' ... I said that's a really nice ride but that I'd pray for them because it's usually quite a few degrees hotter there!! I then said it's the ride and to just enjoy it!! They both smiled, agreed with me and headed out!!

Speaking of the heat ... every place I stopped today I had to be very careful where I dropped my kickstand down, because of the very soft asphalt everywhere!!! I parked in a shady spot at the bank and when I came back out, my kickstand left an impression about as deep as a quarter!!! Then while driving the 3 miles back home from Main Street, on my twisty/turny road, I could almost feel my tires pushing the soft road bed away from my tires!! I'll find out Saturday how the many trips from a log truck and a couple of gravel trucks have done to the road in all this above 100 degree heat, eh!!

Tina told me a couple of nights ago that she had finished getting her 'ROCK' fountain up and running and that I could stop by anytime to take more pictures, but that it would not be running water as she was going down south for a few days to pick up 2 of her grand kids for their normal 'summer vacation' with her. So when she gets home, I'll get some shots with the water bubbling up the top of her rock and falling over the one edge, eh!!

Then when driving down Main Street I noticed that our local Joss House Museum finally got the new roof on, after many months of using tarps to cover the under-layment on a couple of our rainy days in the past months. And it's looking really nice all bright and shiny, eh!! Even got in a couple shots of my bike and in one shot yet!! '-)) Plus a few more like the Rose, New B&B, Burn Marks and a few Sunset shots too.

Then I have a few scans from our local newspaper, The Trinity Journal. Here again is where I put up ALL of my pictures for everyone to see, when I would normally be sending out 4 or more emails to various people. Like I'd send the 'Horse' pictures to my buddies like Barb & Stacy, Nadine & Johnny, the 'Pot Gardens' like to my son Ran who lived up here many years and to Val who was born and raised in Trinity County. Then 'SchmidtRides' to my biker buddies. But now with the way I'm putting 'all my eggs in one basket', everyone can look at them all OR not, eh!! Schmidt is one of our local 'Bikers for God' group up here and sometimes they will be eating at our Marino's on a Saturday before heading out on a ride somewhere. Then I get to take a lot bike shots all in one place, right!!!

I have a variety of shots for you today, but the very best of them all, is the water truck filling our tanks!!! We have water again!! Maybe our well pump will be able to relax for a few days till the float drops low enough to kick the pump back on and then the well will have time to fill up that 328 foot deep well and pump water for more than just 12-15 minutes as it has been doing, eh!!

When you view the 3 shots of soap stars, I've been testing how to take better pictures off our tv and these have come out the best to date. I'm finding out that I can get better shots by taking my shots about 12' away and then editing my shot to the size that I want. When I take them any closer I seem to pick all kinds of lines and shadings that is the tv picture refreshing rate.

The shots of the trucks and cars were because they just caught my eye. But the shots of the 'Canyon' I had missed at Longs because they pulled out and drove away before I could get my camera out of our cars trunk. Then when we pulled in the Tops parking lot area, there it was so I took some shots just as they started backing out there too.

All the shots of the water truck was the best yet tho ... they were delivering water because our well hasn't been keeping up with our and our tenants usage!! But I had to bring a water line down 165 # from the tanks to give Mike & Ron a hookup closer to their truck, as they can't drive the truck up any closer, eh!! If you check out the 'NewWaterLine_pano' shot that will show you the distance from our water tank shed and the corner of our house and the end of the pipe and connector/cap is about another 22' to the opposite side of the house closer to the driveway.

Then the shots of the Moon came out pretty good and Kathy just got a package today with the Frog T-Shirt and the Frog Towel and the pictures were just so cute that I had to take shots of them too, right!! ;-))

Just UPDATED my Blog and have another variety of pictures, eh!! I'll start off with new shots of our First Great Grand Daughter, move into a butterfly collage especially for my sister 'Jo', then a some shots of a nice looking Harley and my bike just happened to be in the 'line of fire', eh!! ;-)) Then a couple shots of some birds that used to be seen around he a lot in the past, but haven't been seen for many a year till now, shots of sweet peas and wildflowers, a custom Dodge Truck that I wouldn't mind owning.

Now for the best ... a couple shots of our very own 'Trinity County Choppers', eh!! ;-)) More Butterflies, Clouds, Sunset shots with one that came out just fab!!! If you care to see and hear the winds that was happening as I was taking these sunset shots, check out the 'AVI', but it's kind of a long download via 56k modem, eh!! It's a good thing that I was using my tripod on the 'still' shots!! Then the White Honda Gull Wing and Trailer was such an eye catcher, that I just had to take some of it, eh!! While there I saw that all the flowers in the planter had really bloomed out and I'd been waiting for about 2 weeks hoping to get a lot of color and that I did, eh!! Then add the North Valley Bank flower display, it was like hitting the Jack-Pot!!! ;-)) Then a good shot of our street flags out for Flag Day, and then on the ride from NVB to the PO, I saw this GREAT looking Red Cobra and stopped to get a few shots of that and the nice looking bike parked a couple of spaces away.

The last shots are of Lucy and Ricky eating 'together' which is a major happening for us, a couple of 'senior' pictures and a really cute video about cats, eh!! Some old and some new to me, that someone made a video of. Well, that's about all for this update. Hope you enjoy all the pictures, eh!! ;-))

Hi Everyone,

I've got some more goodies today and NOT one is a picture of mine, eh!! The 'Dolomite Mountains, ITALY' is from a Power Point Presentation sent to my by my ebuddy Evelyn in California and I'm going to grab the rest of the pictures for my files.

The 'FirstKiss', 'Kasey' & 'Sunset' shots were sent to my by my ebuddy Barbara in Texas. The 'LindaLee' shots were sent to me by my long lost friend and now new ebuddy Linda Haner, of her granddaughter Grace who will turn 1 year old on the 12th of June.

The shots of 'Maia' are from Kathy's sister Karen of her new granddaughter!! Seems like a lot of grand kids shots, eh!! ;-)) Remember when YOU had your very first grand kid?? We now have TWO GREAT Grand Kids!! My how time flies by. I can still remember my 1st kid being born and that was way back in 1962, eh!! ;-)) Click here to see ALL!!

Custom Painted Harley, Old Stagecoach, Kayakers, Gold Drege & Trinity River

Hi Everyone,

While we were in town today shopping, I saw the most beautiful custom paint job that I've ever seen on any bike before!! I tried taking shots at different angles so you hopefully see how the coloring changes as you move up/down and left/right while viewing it. So if you think I threw in to many 'similar' shots just look closely at each one to see how the coloring changes. It may show up better in the slide show too.

Also, Kathy picked up a couple post cards today and one is of a real stage coach that used to come out of Redding, CA with the mail and passengers, the 47 miles of twisting/turning, up/down grades, with a team of 6 horses, to Weaverville, the County Seat of Trinity County. Later on they would come up our road of Oregon Street then drop down into the LaGrange Mine to deliver mail and foods, then on over to Junction City about another 4 miles. Later yet they then continued on down river a ways and did a return trip. I met one of the drivers many years back and he told me it took about a week to make the return trip or the complete trip took 2 weeks!! Now we drive this same distance in about 90 minutes one way, eh!! ;-)) And the picture of Trinity River and the Kayakers and the floating Gold Dredge is still a common site today.
